What is your opinion of the idea that we must suppress our individual comfort for the
?good of humanity
In life we often become open to the idea that we are free and what we do is our
decision and our responsibility. Knowing this a lot of us create a comfort zone where
we feel secure, and where life's decisions seem easy. However there are times where
we must leave the comfort zone in order to expand are individual comfort, and
proceed in the world. Leaving the comfort zone we face many challenges which test
.the good of humanity
In the trilogy The Lord of the Rings, the character Frodo Baggins faced many
challenges. Frodo Baggins a hobbit living in his home of the shire was faced with the
ring of Sauron. When introduced to Sauron's evil ring Frodo was forced to leave his
comfort zone of the shire, where he ventured through lands of good and evil. Frodo
suppressed his individual comfort by leaving his comfort zone and by taking it into
his responsibility to destroy Sauron's ring. Frodo suppressed his individual comfort
for the good of humanity because he knew that he was the last hope for his
.Civilization
In the film Citizen Kane, a man by the name of Charles Foster Kane was faced with
the many challenges of happiness. Charles Kane was a desperate man, but not for
money, women, or success but a man in need of happiness. Throughout the life of
Charles Kane he suppressed his individual comfort for the good of others by placing
himself second. If he would have placed himself first he would have lost his success
and his earnings. However by placing himself second Charles Kane hoped for little
happiness in return. Throughout the film Charles Kane did not receive the happiness

he had hoped for but instead he had suppressed his individual comfort for the good of
.humanity
In the film Waterworld the main character mariner faced many challenges in search of
food and outlaw. On his journey in search of food an outlaw Mariner came across a
woman and a child who were wanted for a land. Mariner being water bound left his
comfort zone in order to help this woman and child find land, and hide it from their
enemies. In return Mariner wished for peace from the world around. Mariner in search
of food and outlaw instead suppressed his individual comfort for the good of
.humanity
I believe that that we must suppress our individual comfort for the good of humanity.
We must suppress are individual comfort to the extent that are happiness is not
overcome by the good of humanity, but the good of humanity is still at our best
interest. In order to advance in the world and to make the world a happy and peaceful
.place we must suppress our individual comfort and make decisions based on good
