Here,, I’ll talk about Shakespeare’s best tragedy
‘MACBETH’ and HARSHAD MEHTA “SCAM
1992” the webseries released in October 2020..

2. INTRODUCTION
 Macbeth is a Scottish general who has been fighting for King
Duncan. Three witches tell Macbeth that he will become king
of Scotland. Macbeth is spurred by his ambition and his wife,
and he murders Duncan and accedes to the throne.
 Harshad Shantilal Mehta was an Indian stockbroker. Mehta's
involvement in the 1992 Indian securities scam made him
infamous as a market manipulator.
 Harshad Mehta changed the way one looks at the stock
market and how brokers trade.

3. MACBETH
 Macbeth was a powerful warrior of
scottland.
 He is protagonist of “MACBETH” a
tragedy written by WILLIAM
SHAKESPEARE.
 It was performed in 1606 and first
published in 1623.
 The tragedy is based on true
events of Scottland.
HARSHAD MEHTA
• He was an indian
stockbrocker.
• He is protagonist of the
crime drama web series
“SCAM 1992) directed by
HANSAL MEHTA and JAI
MEHTA.
• It was released in October
2020.
• The web series is based on
true events of 1992 Indian
Stock Market Scam
commited by stockbroker
Harshad Mehta.

4. MACBETH
 He is very ambitious in his life.
 First, he was only a Scottish general.
 There are three witches who makes a
prophecies about Macbeth’s future.
 After hearing about prophecy,
Macbeth become “THANE OF
COWDOR”.
 There was Banquo who always helps
Macbeth.
HARSHAD MTEHA
• Mehta is also an ambitious man.
• Long time back he was middle class
man who suffers from destitution.
• In Harshad Mehta’s story he believes in
himself that he’ll become famous
someday.
• He got a job in share market as a sales
person.
• There was Ashwin Mehta, Harshad’s
elder brother , who always helps him.

5. MACBETH
 He wants to become King of
Scottland.
 That’s why Macbeth killed king
Duncan and he ruled scottland.
 Macbeth comes to know about
Macduff joins the army, he
orders to kill Macduff’s wife
and children.
HARSHADMEHTA
• Harshad wants to earn lots of
money in short time.
• He does systemic stock fraud using
bank receipts and stump paper
which caused the Indian Stock
Market to crash.
• He allegedly colluded with bank
employees to get fake bank receipts
issued. He used these receipts to
get other banks to lend him money
that they were lending against
government securities.

6. MACBETH
Macduff’s army comes
to Dunsinane by using
branches of Birnam
wood.
Macbeth killed in
battle by Macduff.
HARSHAD
MEHTA
• Mehta’s scam came to light, the text
department conducted a raid on the
mehtas on February 28,1992.Several
documents and share certificates
were seized.
• Mehta was convicted by both the
Bombay High Court and the Supreme
Court and charged with 74 criminal
offences. His legal battels dragged on
until 2001, when he passed away in
jail from a cardiac arrest. He was 47.

7. CONCLUSION
MACBETH and HARSHAD MEHTA was very
ambitious in their life.
They both were very talented at first but as time
flies they both did wrong for their ambition and falls
down.
Both did wrong work for higher post and an
ambition.
They both survived from POWERFUL RISE AND
TRAGIC DOWNFALL.
