5. Biography of
Julio Jaramillo
Julio Jaramillo, whose full name is Julio Alfredo Jaramillo Laurido, was
one of the most outstanding Ecuadorian singer-songwriters of all
time. He was born into a humble family on October 1, 1935. His
parents were Juan Jaramillo Erazo and Apolonia Laurido. From a very
young age, he faced different adversities such as the death of his
father and his younger sister. In addition, due to his restless nature,
he had countless disciplinary problems at school with his teachers,
which is why he ended up withdrawing when he was crossing the
third grade.
His contact with music began at a very young age, practically in
adolescence, when at the age of 16 he began to perform in Guayaquil
bars of the time while at the same time taking guitar lessons with the
artist Ignacio Toapanta. Despite the fact that from that moment little
Julio already knew that his mother Apolonia would dedicate his entire
life to music, forcing him to finish his primary studies.

GONZALO ENDARA BIOGRAPHY
8. PAINTING STYLE
Magical realism in painting can be distinguished by the way reality and fantasy mix. Any distinction
between the two is erased by combining elements of fantasy and mythology with otherwise unrealistic
fiction. Gonzalo Endara Crow's paintings are interwoven into fantastic elements with an expressionless
presentation that transforms the improbable into a certain reality with a subtle mechanism: the
treatment of light. Endara Crow's paintings attempt to expand the categories of the real in order to
encompass myth. As in the texts of magical realism and other extraordinary phenomena of nature.
