UNPLEASANT ENVIRONMENT
Rubbish can be found almost everywhere on the walkways. The disposal area is the main issue which the community
does not organize properly as they think it was already destroyed and dirty. The smell around the disposal area is quite
nasty as well.
INSUFFICIENT EDUCATION FACILITIES
The children have limited access on exploring new
knowledge and information for their future studies due to
the insufficiency of facilities and equipment.
UNLIVELY
Less event and activities which make the area
sparse. This could affect the relationship barriers
between each community to another
5. CO N NE
EDUCATIONAL MURALS TO HELP EDUCATE THE RESIDENTS
Due to the condition of the garbage disposal area being infested with garbage being thrown from every angle. The
community believes that education is needed in order to cultivate a discipline manner of garbage disposal. This can be
achieved through mural drawings around the garbage disposal site
BETTER VISUAL PRESENTATION OF GARBAGE SITE
After interviewing a few residents staying in the apartments, most of them were addressing the issue of how the garbage
site is not very visually attractive and is an eye sore. This issue is being brought up as when guest come to the apartments
they are forced to look at the nasty garbage disposal site. Efforts have recently been made to organize the area but we feel
that we can contribute more to making it aesthetically appealing
GETTING RID OF THE NASTY SCENT
The community also spoke to us regarding the nasty smell that comes from the garbage disposal area when strong winds
blow though it or when it’s approaching the mid of the week and the garbage is stacked on top of each other. This can be
reduced by planting trees around it in hope of absorbing the smell or creating a barrier so the smell won’t pass through
6. The pathway to the garbage disposal site also seems to not be optimal. For instance the area is walled of from the view of
the residents and whilst this was intended to mask its sight to the residents, it also encourages people to circle the area just
to dispose of their refuse and thus demotivating them and resulting them to just throw away the garbage instead of properly
sorting them out.
The energy that could be spent to sort the refuse out is instead spent on circling the disposal area.

SOLUTION : Light Colour Scheme
WHY? : The combination of heat and humidity allows bacteria to grow faster and
smell to travel farther
CONTRAST
The background behind an object may make its
color appear differently. As the inner wall of the
disposal area is dark in colour, bright colour walls
for the outer layer could bring out a big contrast
effect.
Color that covers a large area, such as a painted
wall, tends to appear brighter and more vivid than it
would when covering a smaller area, this is referred
to as the large wall panels in the given site.
