The planet has been experiencing considerable climate change for the last several decades. There have been many explanations toward the main causes
of the increased warming of the planet. On one hand are the environmentalists who believe that the major cause of this increased warming of the planet
is the increase in greenhouse gases in the atmosphere induced by human activities. On the other hand, the scientists believe that there are natural causes
of global climate change. While the supporters of the man–made theory of global climate change reason that the major greenhouse gas causing global

In addition, human activities like deforestation may increase the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. This is because forests help in carbon
sequestration, which reduces the amount of carbon dioxide in the air. It follows then that clearing such tress will increase the amount of carbon dioxide
since carbon sequestration will not occur (3). The man–made theory of climate change also explains that when these harmful gasses reach the
atmosphere, they form a blanket, which traps heat in the atmosphere. This trapping of in the atmosphere is the phenomenon that causes the planet to
get warmer, hence the term global warming (Sharma, 4).
Current data reveals that the concentration of Carbon Dioxide in the earth's atmosphere is approximately 387 parts per million, which is roughly a
31% increase in the period 1750 to 2009. Consequently, it is evident that such increases in temperatures have caused a warmer planet (7). It is also
evident that it is impossible to reverse the developments of industrial revolution. This means that as the advancements of industrial revolution continue
and as energy demands increases, it is possible that this trend of climate change will continue for decades to come (McAloon, 8). The consent of the
climate research community is that it most likely already affects climate noticeably and will compel significant

Introduction:
Attention Getter: Has anyone here heard of the butterfly effect? Well, it is the concept that small causes have large effects. For example, the notion of
a butterfly fluttering in Rio de Janeiro could change the weather in Chicago. In this speech I will be talking about what global warming actually is. What
causes it? What effects it has on earth and its inhabitants and what are some possible solutions?

A.Global warming is weather patterns and temperatures that are changing rapidly and unpredictably on a global scale, according to ecologic.org.
B.Over the past century temperatures have been gradually going up by one degree. It may not seem that much but scientists are stating that earth's
temperature is increasing at a faster rate.
C.Earth's average temperature has risen by 1.4 degrees and temperatures are expected to rise to another 2 to 11.5 degrees over the next 100 years.
D.97% of earth's climate scientist have agreed that global warming is a result of human activity and is not a natural occurrence.

Global warming is a constant topic that is frequently discussed throughout the world. Many people including environmentalist, study this topic to
determine the seriousness and world impact. The typical understanding of this concept "global warming" is known to be the total long–term
intensification in the temperature present in the atmosphere (3). When discussing this topic, it is still important to consider the fact if Global Warming
is actually fact or fiction. In order to evaluate this controversial issue, one would need to discuss evidence for or against the idea of global warming.
To further discuss this topic, one should evaluate valid sources that can support one's conclusions. I believe that Global warming is in fact true and that
the evidence that we see in regards to the temperature change and environmental change does defend my perspective. Studies have shown that global
surface temperature has increased about 0.74В°C within the last century. The global surface temperature is also expected to increase by another
3–5В°C in 100 years to come (5). Even though this relatively small number may seem insignificant to many people, it has caused many changes to the

Well don't worry, I'm about to tell you why. Now there are numerous bias statements in Emily's video that depict truth from opinion but I will only
talk about a few. For starters, Emily goes on about all the negative effects tar sands have in our earth, but refuses to discuss the positive. Now don't
get me wrong, I'm not "pro tar sands" but I'm not against it either. For everything in life there needs to be a balance and you can't have something
good without something bad coming out of it as well. Tar sand companies provide thousands of jobs for people across Northern Alberta and are
also the reason why we are able to hop in our vehicles on a cold winter day instead of walking. Tar sand companies also contribute to the value of

Reviewing the website above, I must say some people are extremely foolish and a vast majority of the claims they make are extremely ridiculous!
Global Warming and Climate change are ever present and the effects are seen worldwide. The fact that there are so many people in denial and so
many claims is just astonishing to me. I really don't know how some of these people can look at their children and claim the scientific evidence out
there regarding climate change is a bunch of bullshit, as Donald Trump would say. It really gets me angry and to know that the necessary changes that
needed to happen years ago will be completely disregarded for many years due to political misconception and corruption is extremely frustrating.
When reviewing the claims, I find them all interesting, some I have heard before and some were new. However the two I'd like to focus on are:
