The document discusses Internet of Things (IoT). It defines IoT as a platform that connects everyday devices with electronics, software, or sensors to the internet. This allows for the collection and sharing of data between connected things. IoT has benefits like efficient resource utilization, minimizing human effort, and saving time. It also enables the development of artificial intelligence. The architecture of IoT generally includes application, network, and perception layers. IoT has applications in smart environments, transportation, supply chain/logistics, energy conservation, agriculture, social/entertainment, health, and home automation. While IoT is still facing challenges in Bangladesh, its use is growing and has good potential.
2. WHAT IS IOT(INTERNET OF THINGS)?
IOT is basically a platform where we can connect everyday things which are embedded with either electronics software or
sensos to the internet and this in turn enables us to collect as well as exchange between these things.
Let’s say I have an internet platform where I can connect these things. For example,if I take the example of my house I can connect my
lock,my AC,my light and all this can be managed on the same platform.since I have a platform so I can connect my car to this.I can
keep a track on my speed limit,my location.
3. WHY DO WE NEED IOT?
We need IOT to:
Interact
Contribute
Collaborate
things. For example:
IOT continuously
monitoring your health.
As any irregular condition
is monitored,hospital is
noticified.
Quickly the
ambulance is send to
the patients location
Before ambulance
arrives,all the facilities
are ready for the
patient based on his
reports.
5. FEATURES OF IOT
There are mainly three features of IOT:
CONNECT Connect various things to the IOT platform.
ANALYZE Analyze the data collected and use it to build business intelligence.
INTEGRATE Integrate various models to improve user experience
6. IOT ARCHITECTURE
There is no single consensus on architecture for IOT,which is agree universally. So basically there are 3 types of IOT
architecture.Following are:
Application
Layer
Responsible for delivering application specific services to the user.Defines
applications in which the Internet of Things can be deployed.
Network
Layer
RResponsible for connecting smart things, network devices and servers. Also used
for transmitting and processing sensor data.
Perceptio
n Layer
SSensors sense and gather information about the environment.Senses physical
parameters or identifies other objects in the environment.

The total installed based of IoT connected devices world wide is projected to amount to 30.9 billion units by 2025,a sharp jump from
the 13.8 billion units that are expected in 2021.The chart numbers are in billions.
9. IOT IN BANGLADESH
Situation in Bangladesh in favour of IoT isn’t that good. There are a lot of challenges.Mainly three big challenge:
Knowledge Gap Lack of Technology Lack of Strong
Connectivity
But there is a good potential of IoT in Bangladseh.Gradually the mass people are understanding IoT and our government also
encouraging importers by giving special benefits in the impor process. So that they can easily import IOT devices.
Very soon in Bangladesh people will use IoT devices in millions.
