Project Description: Kaiser Permanente is an integrated managed care consortium,
based in Oakland, California and United States. Kaiser Foundation
Health Plans work with employers, employees, and individual
members to offer prepaid health plans and insurance. The health
plans are not-for-profit and provide infrastructure for and invest in
Kaiser Foundation Hospitals and provide a tax-exempt shelter for the
for-profit Medical groups.
Kaiser is implementing the Health Information Exchange(HIX) by
creating the National Claims platform with the Exchange Qualified
Health Plan(QHP)offerings to reduce the cost for processing a claim,
improve auto-adjudication rates, and deliver an extensible solution
that can adapt to emerging and future business needs and regulatory
and compliance needs through Diamond – Claims Processing
System.
DIAMOND® is a claims payment/processing system. It identifies
member eligibility for claims processing and prices claims based on
prior arrangements (group or provider).It also controls payment
based on authorization and benefits. To support the administration of
the QHP offerings, benefit packages within the Diamond application

Client : Kaiser Permanente Medicare Business Engine (KP MBE), USA.
Project Description: The Membership System Strategy (MSS) is one of three Kaiser’
initiatives within the Medicare Business Engine (MBE) program. The
MBE project intends to migrate and convert Medicare specific
functions and data from various regional systems, including the three
Regional Membership Systems and the National product used by
National Medicare Finance (NMF) team to the Market Prominence
(MP) solution developed by Continuum Performance Systems Inc.
(CPS). MP will allow the standardization of Medicare Membership
functions and data across various Kaiser Regions such as CA, Mid-
Atlantic States (MAS), and Regions Outside of CA (ROC) in line with
CMS expectations.
CPS Market Prominence is a process management solution for
government administered health plans. Kaiser will use MP to
manage its Medicare Advantage & Part D line of business. The MP
modules to be installed are Enrollment, Centers of Medicare &
Medicaid Services (CMS) Transaction Processing, and Payment

delivering immediate quality benefits while creating a foundation for a
successful CPOE project. Order sets are essential for physician
workflow and integration of CPOE. Order sets provide the framework
to transform care delivery and improve care. To be effective, CPOE
requires an expanded library of order set content, typically 600 or
more order sets and clinical protocols. Involved in the orderset build
for the Oncology, Pediatric, and Oral rehabilitation Department.
