Capstone Project
The goal of this project was to use my knowledge and experi-
ence combing my Exercise Science and Interdisciplinary Studie
s to train athletes properly and teach coaches the progression
phases to improve performance levels.
Elite Basketball Training
• Trainers: Samy Abdalla and Majak Wenying
• Elite Basketball Training was developed in
2019
• Individual Workouts
• Group Workouts
• Locations: NH |TX | NC |MN
WHAT IS IFT MODEL?
• Integrated Fitness Training provides a framework that allows for
progression in programming
• Incorporates the art of relationship building with the science of
exercise programming
• Integrates assessments and programming to facilitate behavior cha
nge, while also addressing posture, movement, flexibility, balance,
core function, cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular and strength
endurance
• There are two principal training components for IFT Model, and
each component is comprised of 4 Phases; however, I only focused
on Functional Movement and Resistance Training as the athletes are
very much conditioned in cardiorespiratory.
Phase 1 –
Stability &
Mobility
• Introduce low-intensity
exercise
• Improve muscle balance,
muscular endurance, core
function, flexibility, as well as
static and dynamic balance to
improve posture
Phase 2 – Movement Training
Emphasis on controlled motion and deceleration
through eccentric muscle actions.
Phase 3 –
Load Training
Goals addressed
• Muscular
strength
• Muscular
endurance
Phase 4 – Performance Training
Improving speed, agility, quickness, reactivity, and power
My Experience:
This opportunity was such a humbling moment. I’ve learned so much that will for
ever be in my heart. Of course, at first, I was nervous because I thought the athle
tes won't take me seriously, but they trusted that I knew what I was doing, and th
at made me become more confident in my craft. One of the biggest key I took fr
om this opportunity is patience. What I learned from volunteering with Elite Bask
etball Training is my future business is going to bomb because the skills I have is
undeniable amazing because I am passionate about Exercise Science.

  • 3. Capstone Project The goal of this project was to use my knowledge and experi- ence combing my Exercise Science and Interdisciplinary Studie s to train athletes properly and teach coaches the progression phases to improve performance levels.
  • 4. Elite Basketball Training • Trainers: Samy Abdalla and Majak Wenying • Elite Basketball Training was developed in 2019 • Individual Workouts • Group Workouts • Locations: NH |TX | NC |MN
  • 5. WHAT IS IFT MODEL? • Integrated Fitness Training provides a framework that allows for progression in programming • Incorporates the art of relationship building with the science of exercise programming • Integrates assessments and programming to facilitate behavior cha nge, while also addressing posture, movement, flexibility, balance, core function, cardiorespiratory fitness, muscular and strength endurance • There are two principal training components for IFT Model, and each component is comprised of 4 Phases; however, I only focused on Functional Movement and Resistance Training as the athletes are very much conditioned in cardiorespiratory.
  • 6. Phase 1 – Stability & Mobility • Introduce low-intensity exercise • Improve muscle balance, muscular endurance, core function, flexibility, as well as static and dynamic balance to improve posture
  • 7. Phase 2 – Movement Training Emphasis on controlled motion and deceleration through eccentric muscle actions.
  • 8. Phase 3 – Load Training Goals addressed • Muscular strength • Muscular endurance
  • 9. Phase 4 – Performance Training Improving speed, agility, quickness, reactivity, and power
  • 10. My Experience: This opportunity was such a humbling moment. I’ve learned so much that will for ever be in my heart. Of course, at first, I was nervous because I thought the athle tes won't take me seriously, but they trusted that I knew what I was doing, and th at made me become more confident in my craft. One of the biggest key I took fr om this opportunity is patience. What I learned from volunteering with Elite Bask etball Training is my future business is going to bomb because the skills I have is undeniable amazing because I am passionate about Exercise Science.
