2. Quinary Number System:
Quinary (base-5 or pental) is a numeral system with five as
the base.
A method of representing number that has 5 as its base and
uses only the digits 0 1 2 3 4.
3. Addition Facts in quinary:
5 = 10
6 = 11
7 = 12
8 = 13 and so on
(a) 2
+ 1
3 (No need to change base)
(b) 3
+ 2
10 (3 + 2 = 5) (5 in base 5 is 10)
4. (c) 4
+ 3
12 (4 + 3 = 7) (7 in base 5 is 12)
(d) 4

13 (4+4 =8) (8 in base 5 is 13)
5. Example –17 4 3 2 + 3 4 1
Solution: 4 3 2 (2+1 = 3) (No need to change base)
+ 3 4 1 (3+4 = 7) (7 in base 5 is 12)
