18. SiRNA/Gene Silencing RNA/Ninja RNA
• siRNA (short [or small] interfering RNA) is a class of small double-stranded
RNA molecules that silence gene expression by inducing the RISC (RNA-
induced silencing complex) to cleave mRNA.
• Introduced by 2 ways:-
1. By Researchers
2. By certain Virus that produce Antisense RNA.

28. Antisense Technology
• It is possible to synthesise a strand of nucleic acid that binds with
mRNA and inhibits the production of protein.
• Used to treat disease , when genetic sequence of particular gene is
known to be causative for particular disease.
33. Zinc Finger Protein.
• Zinc finger protein are among the most abundant protein in a
eukaryotic genomes.
• They present in tandem repeat.
• Zinc ion holding the DNA folds.
• Largest known DNA-binding family in multicellular organism.
• composed of two beta layer and one Alpha helix.
• 2 Cysteine and 2 Histidine Residue located in certain position binding
zinc to stabilize the structure.
34.
35. Zinc finger Nucleases.
• Zinc finger nucleases (ZFNs) are a class of engineered DNA-
binding proteins that facilitate targeted editing of the genome by
creating double-strand breaks in DNA at user-specified
locations.
• Help in Genome Editing.
