from Adrian Osborne to All Panelists:
Cool. That's worked. Apologies for the grainy image as my iPad is very broken and
covered in sellotape. I always look better in soft focus, though.
from Paul Woodley to All Panelists:
If anyone needs camera please let me know, only 4 people can have cameras
activated at once

So I'm having to swap camera rights as required
from Adrian Osborne to All Panelists:
I'll just need it for my stint later in the call ... but on "the other me" as this one I'm just

from Ian McPhee to All Participants:
SoMe very powerful. Have just attended MayoInOZ SoMe in Medicine Summit!
Incredible!
from Jodi Brown to All Participants:
Ian, who won the video? I voted for Patient Opinion!
from Paul Woodley to All Participants:
Thats okay, the best teams have a mix of many personality types! There's strength in
depth and variety!
from Ian McPhee to All Participants:
The high school students won!! Deservedly IMHO
from Helen Bevan to All Participants:
I was talking yesterday to the Communications Lead for DevoManc who is a similar
kind of communications leader to Adrian and sees the potential to mobilise many,
many people in new ways. What I love about Adrian's talk is that he sees the
potential of these ideas from a communications perspective. From my perspective,
Adrian is the best kind of communications leader. We have to help other comms
leaders to move towards an approach that is about dialogue, connection on the basis
of values and emotions and two way communication rather than top down
messages. I'm really inspired!
from Justine Smith to All Participants:
How do you convince a risk averse organisation who dont have a comms team to dip
their toe into Twitter?
from Ian McPhee to All Participants:
What a brilliant concept - Public Governor. We need this!! Our Boards can be very
introspective.
from Adrian Osborne to All Participants:
Timely insights for me from David - our new CEO starts later this month and
currently works with David at Warrington & Halton
from Adrian Osborne to All Participants:
Hi Justine - we were that risk-averse organisation. Our approach to Twitter was
much more bottom up with great clinical advocates making "not being on Twitter" not
an option
from Justine Smith to All Participants:
great idea
from Ian McPhee to All Participants:
See the New Yorker this week! If Twitter good enough for Kermit and Miss Piggy -
it's good enough for clinicians!
from Adrian Osborne to All Participants:
Thanks so much, Helen. I personally don't think there is any other way to work in
health and care - each of us has a very personal interaction and understanding of
health/care; "Comms leaders" need to be mindful of this else they will create
messages that no one will hear.
from Justine Smith to All Participants:
4. will check that out Ian! thanks
from Ian McPhee to All Participants:
Encouraged by number of comms at MayoInOz!
from Adrian Osborne to All Participants:
I've tweeted via @sathAdrianO a link to "alternative" Myers Briggs types :-)
from Helen Bevan to All Participants:
I am in awe of David's unfolding story. It is an outstanding example of how to build
power for change when you don't have positional authority. Also how to use multiple
approaches, mobilising others from the platform of being a Governor.
from Louise Mckeeney to All Participants:
important to raise sense of urgency & connecting to the emotions involved
from Adrian Osborne to All Participants:
Echo Helen's comments. Leaders in the NHS need to focus on sharing and enabling
power, not collecting it
from Justine Smith to All Participants:
Are people leaving organisations to move to somewhere they feel is more open to
change, rather than staying in the boat after attending the SHCR?
from Adrian Osborne to All Participants:
In many ways I hope not, Justine. It's great when Radicals stick around to be the
change their organisation needs.
from David Ellis to All Participants:
I think too many people move on in the NHS - better to rock the boat - but always do
it in a positive way - go with solutions, not problems!
from John Rouse to All Participants:
"I would recommend care..." powerful statement and probably very influential for
leaders unwilling to accept change.
from Nigel Rose to All Participants:
As someone new to the Edge, I'd be interested to know how many people from VCS
infrastructure organisations trying to influence Health care, were involved. It'd be an
interesting link-up.
from David Ellis to All Participants:
when I went to our Deputy Director I went with the story, but I also went with a plan
of how to resolve
from elizabeth Heley to All Participants:
Thank you to you all, that was really useful
from Ian McPhee to All Participants:
Thank you for sharing with the world!!
from David Ellis to All Participants:
Thanks! Great!
from Adrian Osborne to All Participants:
Thanks everyone xxx
from jane bassham to All Participants:
