Pitch a Brilliant Idea Contest
Ambisyon Natin 2040 is a long-term visioning project initiated by the National
Economic and Development Authority (NEDA). The vision crafted from the project
was intended to provide a basis for unity among Filipinos.
This long-term view aims to serve as a guide in development planning and to ensure
the continuity of policies, projects, and programs, across administrations.
I. Who may participate
1. The AmBisyon Natin 2040 Pitch a Brilliant Idea Contest is open to all bona
fide Grades 7-11 high school students in both private and public schools.
2. Each team shall be composed of four students which shall be accompanied
by an adviser.
II. Theme
1. The AmBisyonNatin 2040 Pitch a Brilliant Idea Contest shall focus on the
promotion of the results of the Long Term Vision (LTV) survey.

III. Registration of Participants
Participants shall register not later than September 16, 2016, 5:00 pm using the
prescribed registration form through e-mail at caraga.neda@gmail.com or fax at
(085) 815-0308.
IV. General Mechanics
1. The AmBisyonNatin 2040 Pitch a Brilliant Idea Contest shall start at 10:00 AM
on September 22, 2016 at NEDA-Caraga Conference Hall, Butuan City.
2. Personal belongings of the teams shall be kept away so as not to disturb
other teams.
3. A roll call of the teams will be done by the contest in-charge. Team members
are expected to stay in the pre-assigned seats/tables.
V. Mechanics

1. Each team will receive a template for the plan of action in promoting
AmBisyon Natin 2040. They will also be provided with cardboards and other
materials where they could write down their inputs.
2. Mechanics shall be given and competition starts at a designated time by the
contest administrators. The competition starts after the mechanics is given.
Each team will be given one hour to finish the action plan. The participants will
be informed 15 minutes prior to the end of the competition to wrap up their
outputs.
3. During the event, only the participants may raise clarifications and/or
questions to the contest-in-charge. The contest-in-charge may refer the
queries to the Board of Jurors, if he/she deems it necessary.
4. Winners will be announced during the awarding ceremony.
VI. Bases for judging
The following are the bases for judging:
a. Relevance to the theme
b. Uniqueness and creativeness
c. Practicability and appropriateness of the action plan
VII. Judging of entries
1. The Board of Jurors, composed of three members, will convene as a group to
judge the entries and determine the winner.
2. The winner shall be judged based on the criteria for this competition. The first,
second and third place winners shall be determined based on the average
scores computed by the judges. The decision of the Board of Jurors is final
and irrevocable.
VIII. Prizes
The team who shall be declared first prize shall receive PhP3,000; PhP2,000 for
the second prize; and PhP1,000 for the third prize.
IX. Awarding
Awarding of winners shall be done during the culmination program of the
AmBisyon Natin 2040 Knowledge Olympics on September 22, 2016 at NEDA
Caraga Conference Hall, JP Rosales Avenue, Butuan City.
