MAINTAIN A PLANT?
T-CODE-OX10
The plant is an operating area or branch within a company.
The plant is embedded in the organizational structure as follows:
The plant is assigned to a single company code. A company code can have several
plants.
Several storage locations in which material stocks are managed can belong to a plant.
A single business area is assigned to a plant and to a division.
A plant can be assigned to several combinations of sales organization and distribution
channel.
A plant can have several shipping points. A shipping point can be assigned to several
plants.
A plant can be defined as a maintenance planning plant.
2. DEVISION?
T-CODE: OVXA
The division is one of the organizational units in Sales & Distribution and is also required for
business area account assignment for logistics transactions in Financial Accounting. The
business area for the material is determined via the plant and the division defined in the
material master record.
STORAGE LOCATION?
T-CODE OX09
A storage location is the place where stock is physically kept within a plant.
A storage location has the following attributes:
There may be one or more storage locations within a plant.
A storage location has a description and at least one address.
It is possible to store material data specific to a storage location.
Stocks are managed only on a quantity basis and not on a value basis at storage location level.
Physical inventories are carried out at storage location level.
A storage location can be assigned to a warehouse number in the Warehouse Management
System. You can assign more than one storage location to the same warehouse number within a
plant.
3. Storage locationsare alwayscreated for plant
MAINTAIN PURCHASE ORGANISATION?

If you create the MRP parameters for a new plant for the first time
If you completely want to delete the MRP parameters for a plant.
PURCHASE GROUP?
T-CODE –OME4
7. SET TOLERANCE LIMIT FOR PRICE VARIANCE?
T –CODE - OMEU
When processing a purchase order, the system checks whether the effective price of a PO
item shows variances compared with the valuation price stored in the materialmaster
record. In addition, it checks whetherthe specified cash discount value is admissible.
Variances are allowed within the framework of tolerance limits. If a variance exceeds a
tolerance limit, the system issues a warning or error message.
8. PLANT PARAMETERS?
SPRO > IMG > MATERIAL MANAGEMENT > INVENTORY MANAGEMNT > PLANT PARAMETERS
SET TOLERANCE LIMIT FOR GOODS RECIEPT?
T –CODE – OMCO
When processing a goods receipt, the system checks each item to determine whetherthe
goods receipt varies from the purchase orderor the material master data. The different types
of variances are defined by tolerance keys. For each tolerance key, tolerance limits can be set
per company code
9. DEFINE VALUATION CONTROL?
T-CODE OMWM
SPRO > IMG >MATERIAL MANAGEMENT >VALUE A/C ASSIGNMENT >AC DETRMINATION >
>AC DETERMINATION WITH OUT WIZARD >VALUATION CONTROL.
For account determination, you can group together valuation areas by activating the
valuation grouping code. This makes the configuration of automatic postings much easier.
Defines the valuation level ( plant / company code)
Activates the Late material block
Activates split valuation
Since the automatic transport of an indicator could activate/deactivate otherfunctions, you
cannot use the automatic transport function .
GROUP TOGRTHER VALUATION AREA
T-CODE OMWD
SPRO > IMG >MATERIAL MANAGEMENT >VALUE A/C ASSIGNMENT >AC DETRMINATION >
>AC DETERMINATION WITH OUT WIZARD >VALUATION GROUP TOGETHER
In this step, you assign valuation areas to a valuation grouping code.
10. The valuation grouping code makes it easier to set automatic account determination. Within
the chart of accounts, you assign the same valuation grouping code to the valuation areas you
want to assign to the same account.
Valuation grouping codes either reflect a fine distinction within a chart of accounts or they
correspond to a chart of accounts.
Within a chart of accounts, you can use the valuation grouping code.

2.Purchasing group and purchase organisationg it difference and they trigged?
Purchase group
Purchase group is a unit of purchase organization and it is responsible for day t o day certain
buying activites.
Purchasing organization
Purchase organize is a organizational unit it is a purchase reqirement procument of material

26. Valuation and account assignment?
Valuation is a link between the material masterand finance
Valuation can be maintained at
1.Plant level
2.Company code level
Valuation at plant level
Different prices for same material in various plant
Valuation at company code level
Can have only prices across all the plants
Valuation is also involve price control
Each material assigned to the material type in material management
Every material is valuation in moving average price or standard price.
Valuation class
1.what is a valuation class?
Valuation class is link between fi to mm and it is a combination of along with transaction
keys BSX,GBB,WX and PRD.It determines during posting the GL accounts.
Group together different material with similar properties of valuation class
Which can be assigned and determine of the material
All materials with same material type wich can be asigend the single valuation class
Different material with same material type wich can be assigned to the different valuation
class.
Material with different material type wich can be assigned to the single valuation class.
27. Case study :-
Change the valuation class in the material master once it is assigned?
One material is assigned to the valuation class in material master record and we can change
only stock of the material NIL
If the stock exits for the material we cant change the valuation class
If the stock exits transfer the stock and issue the stock and stock makes nil for specific
valuation class and then only able to change the valuation class.
Price control
Price control procedure which determines in a material master record valuate of a goods
receipt or invoice receipt of the material
1.Standard price –S
2.Moving average price –V
Standard price
During the valuation using the standard price (price control .S.), there are many stock
postings to a price determined in the material master record, the standard price. Variances to
this standard price are posted to the price differences accounts.
For statistical purposes, the system also calculates the moving average price for materials
that are valuated at standard price in the material master record.
The system calculates the total stock value for materials with standard price control as
follows:
Total value = standard price (per base unit of measure) * total stock
Valuation using a standard price has the following features:
All inventory postings are carried out at the standard price
Variances are posted to price difference accounts
Variances are updated
Price changes can be monitored
If a material is assigned a standard price (S), the value of the material is always calculated at
this price. If goods movements or invoice receipts contain a price that differs from the
standard price, the differences are posted to a price difference account. The variance is not
taken into account in valuation.
28. Moving average price
In valuation using the moving average price (price control “V”), the system valuates goods
receipts with the purchase order price and goods issues with the current moving average
price.
The system automatically calculates the moving average price for every goods movement as
follows:
Moving average price = total stock value / total stockquantity.
Any differences from the purchase order price that occur during the invoice receipt are
posted directly to the stock account during stock coverage, and the system determines a new
moving average price.
Valuation using a moving average price results in the following:
Goods receipts are posted at the goods receipt value.
The price in the material master is adjusted to the delivered price.
Price differences occur only in exceptional circumstances.
Manual price changes are usually unnecessary. However, they are possible.
If a material is assigned a moving average price (MAP), the price is automatically adjusted in
the material master record when price variances occur. If goods movements or invoice
receipts are posted using a price that differs from the moving average price, the differences
are posted to the stock account; as a result, the moving average price and the v
What is the procedure in SAP for initial stock uploading? Mention the accounting entries
also?
Initial stock uploading in SAP from the legacy system is done with inventory movement type
561(a MM transaction which is performed).
Material valuated at standard price: For a material valuated at standard price, the initial
entry of inventory data is evaluated on the basis of standard price in the material master.
If you enter an alternative value at the time of the movement type 561, then the system
posts the difference to the price difference account. Material valuated at moving average
price.
29. The initial entry of inventory data is valuated as follows:
If you enter a value when uploading the initial data, the quantity entered is valuated
at this price.
If you do not enter a value when entering initial data, then the quantity entered is
valuated at the MAP present in the material master.
The accounting entries are: Inventory account is debited and Inventory Historical upload
account is credited.
