• It is when Venus travels across the Sun. You
can see it in the sky traveling across from
Earth. It is seen a as a small black disk because
the Sun is shining on Venus on one side.

3. How often does it occur?
A transit of Venus is very rare. On average, there are two transits
of Venus every 125 years.
The next transit of Venus, where Venus appears as a dark spot in
front of the Sun, will begin at 22:09 on 5 June 2012, and will
finish at 04:49 UTC on 6 June around the World.
How should it be viewed
You should use eclipse shades and solar shades to watch it. Also
special telescopes and observatory buildings can be used to view it.
