On the first day, do the six activities in Lesson 1 – Vocabulary. In this lesson you will
learn vocabulary related to weekend activities. Did you visit a friend or work out at the
gym?
On day 2, Lesson 2 presents seven activities teaching about what was done last
weekend. You will also listen and put the events of a previous weekend in the correct
order. Now, think about your last weekend, can you order the things you did?
The five activities for Lesson 3 come on day 3. You will deal with the past simple of
regular verbs. Then, there are more twelve activities on day 4, Lesson 4, dealing with
the simple past of irregular verbs. I have to tell you that you will have to memorize the
past form of each irregular verb. This is how it works. The good news is that you can
memorize them little by little, and once you memorize one you can’t forget it
anymore.
On the last day, let’s take the opportunity to study the listening activities in Lesson 6.

This week we intend to finish Unit 11 and start Unit 12. Remember that every time we
finish a unit we also read a book. Take the reading serious, this is the skill that will help
you during your academic career. If you dream about studying abroad, you will have to
read a lot in English. So, don’t miss this opportunity!
This week we are going to read the book Dreamtime Painters. Australia’s Aboriginal
culture is one of the oldest in the world. Aboriginal people have painted pictures of a
story called “Dreamtime” for years. These paintings are famous and very valuable.
What is the Dreamtime story? Who are the Dreamtime painters?
For each day we’ll have only one lesson to study, and on the last day we will review
what was learned in Unit 11. On the first day, study the six activities in Lesson 5. Learn
how to use time expressions and the past simple. What did you last year? Where were
you three years ago?

On the third day of this week study the three activities of Lesson 8. You will watch
people talking abut what they did. Can you identify what each person did?
Use the fourth day to start unit 12. The title of this unit is Growing Up. What did you
do in the past? And what activities were really important to you? Did you buy a
house? Did you get married? Did you fall in love? Look back in time and take this unit
to remember your important moments. In Lesson 1, you’ll learn vocabulary to make
you able to say what you did in the past.
Take some time on the last day to review what was studied in Unit 11. After this, do

First of all, start preparing the vocabulary for the book One Boy’s Journey. Yoro is a
young Fulani boy. The ‘Fulani’ are a group of people who live in Africa. To become
men, young Fulani boys must make a long and difficult journey. The journey is a test.
It’s now Yoro’s turn. What challenges will Yoro meet? Will he succeed?
On the second day start reading the pages of the book One Boy’s Journey and divide
the pages of the book in three days of study. Besides this, study Lesson 2 – Grammar –

about his past. Lesson 7 – Reading and Writing – will also be studied on this same day.
Read an article about Jackie Chan and find out things such as where he was born,
what his father’s job was and other curiosities about this famous actor.
