1. Flexibility in Leadership
Flexibility is a core value and a fundamental leadership attribute in a rapidly
changing corporate world. It is a proactive approach that requires leaders to be
visionary, agile, and responsive to unforeseen business requirements. As Powell
said, “effective leader is ever vigilant, ready to shift strategy and tactics as the
situation warrants.” As a result, they earn the trust and respect of their people and
can maintain productivity even during periods of chaos and uncertainty.
Cognitive flexibility allows people to be more adaptive to new situations and meet
challenges with greater ease. I, therefore, believe in being socially perceptive, open
to new ideas, and adjustable to uncertain or unpredictable circumstances. For me, a
shared understanding of change and building trust in employees is pivotal in making
the workplace convenient, producing a high-performing team, and winning an
uncertain challenge.
Like all over the world, we frequently face change and complexity. Since change is
inevitable, uncertainty challenges in my workplace are managed by regular
monitoring/understanding of the business environment and collecting reliable
information from multiple sources before executing plans. I firmly believe that the
best solutions need not necessarily come from the top. The experience, knowledge,
and skills of subordinates are more fruitful in anticipating the unexpected and
2. creating new approaches to problem-solving. To make that happen, workplace
autonomy is my priority in building confidence in the organization and keeping it
competitive. I also believe that besides responding to the change in the workplace, I
have to steer the change.
