+Introduction
Internet of things (IOT) is the blending of smart miniature devices
in our surroundings that they improve our lives and connect us to
manufacturers/people.
 The technology is based on smart devices. (generally embedded)
 It connects to various services and provide us with required
information.
 It helps us do our tasks smartly and
at times without needing our help.
 It has wide ranging potentials in
every possible field.
The core lies in connectivity and
embedding it in a way that we don’t
even notice it.

+How Internet of Things will integrate itself in our lives
and the ways through which it will make our lives
better and more efficient.
+ Trends
 2014 was the “Year of the Internet of Things”.
 2015 will be the year we experience the "Internet of Things That
Matter.“
 The IoT took centre stage at the 2014 Consumer Electronics
Show and there were hundreds of working products at the 2015
CES.
 Cisco CEO at CES: “IoT is a $19 trillion opportunity”, Google
bought Nest for $3.2B USD
 50+ Billion devices as part of IoT by 2020.
 The IoT will have a $1.9 trillion global economic value-add by
2020. Source: Gartner
 Cheap Sensors, cheap bandwidth and cheap processing along
with ubiquitous connectivity is enabling IoT at a very fast rate.
+Future Trends
 The applications lie in every
field.
 With the help of IoT, Homes,
Industries, Transport all of it
could serve the public and
the corporations better.
 The technologies show how the
IoT paradigm will unfold in front
of the world.
 What all can we expect to see in
the specific timeframes and the
need to be prepared for it.
+ Interest Areas
Some of the major concerns
regarding IoT.
 Privacy
 Security
 Standardized protocols for
communication between
various devices.
 My interest resides in creating an
ecosystem for the devices.
 They will connect to each other, even
the devices from different
corporations.
 Giving the customer the ability to
customize their surroundings as
them deem fit.
Given an internship in this area, following are the issues I would innovate
and work on.
 Creating an ecosystem for homes, and industry places which provides a way to
let users decide how much they want to share. (Privacy.)
 Creating an interoperable standard which regardless of the product integrates in
your life and gives you the control to access it as seen fit.
 Creating a robust intermediate device which will handle the security concerns
along with the above mentioned points.

Thank you
