region with 34 regional Bureaus in India. SAHARA SWAR was Satellite Radio broadcasting arm of
SAHARA TV Network which had 4 Music channels on Worldspace Platform. Out of these 2channels were
dedicated for entertainment on Mumbai Public rail transport, this also being first time in the world on such
medium. The Captive audience for these channels is 50 Lakhs and above (Recorded estimate).
Job Profile:
 In Sahara Swar I was involved in the whole project start up, design of broadcast facility Data
Network. From initial enquiries, selection budgeting to execution of purchase of various
equipments. IT infrastructure and Hardware for Audio broadcast Setup. Configuring,
commissioning Encoders Decoders DVB (MINERVA Networks) Data circuit (WAN, SDH
E1,VSAT’s With Nortel Passport) and feeding to Satellite transmission system.
 Automation Software of RCS for rundown of broadcast programmes, schedules and database
storage.
 Monitoring and providing support on all technical setups for running a Broadcast facility.
 Leading Technical team of 3 engineers and 5 Technicians.
Achievement: Various media co’s were having difficulty in making Audio Broadcast available on Mumbai
Local Railway system. Also our consultants and Worldspace engineers were unable to find a suitable
solutions. After I joined, devised a solution to receive consistent satellite signals with antenna(LNA)
combination on this Public transport mode.
