The document appears to be a slide presentation titled "Design Decisions Slide" that discusses the presenter's musical journey and career. It includes sections on her musical beginning at age 5 in Philadelphia, her supportive family and upbringing, her motivation to achieve through hard work and pour into others, and her goal of becoming an entrepreneur and CEO of her own music production company. The presentation emphasizes following one's dreams and passions to find success.
Hook: While in high school, I realized that music would be my way to success, however, It was not until I graduated, and began to pursue a vocation, and began working that deep within my being, my passion of having music “as” my professional began to consume my every thought! Also, I wanted to be an recording artist, (which has come to pass), travel, and live the dream that burned within, It was not until my adult years, that the passion grew to want to pour what God has given me into others, I wanted to see other people live their dreams. I wanted to make that happen.
Hook: The passion to see others fulfill their dreams, is now in it’s beginning stages, so far what I do has affected many in a positive way, Simply from creating and completing my first Contemporary Jazz CD, called “ Basses Loaded”, at my home. Many, now want my services to mix and record their projects, therefore, seeing dreams come to life.
Root: As a child, I was told by my brother, that I would not live to see 7 years of age, You see, I was an asthmatic, with complications of anemia, many were the night my Mom being a nurse had to give me injections to keep me breathing. Many a weekend I had to endure the 13 injections to find out what I was allergic too, many a night my parents prayed that I would get well, “It Worked”!!
Root: As time went by, still enduring this debilitating disease, the injections began to work, and finally at age 15, I outgrew this condition. Life was good after that. One day my eldest brother, while playing for a Gospel Quartet, saw that I had an interest in the guitar, he agreed to teach the guitar to me, while another one of my brothers taught me how to play the drums. Herein was the foundation of my music quest.
Root: The second factor for the reason why I have a passion to see others succeed, was the ability my Dad in helping others, Dad would drive down the street, waving at everyone, whether he knew them or not, also he was a master carpenter, who would build flower pots out of wood to hang out on front windows of homes, and I believe he would do this for free. His action and love for people laid the second foundation for why I want to do what I do.
Root: I believe what sets me apart from everyone else, came from what I had to endure, and what I saw, and the foundations laid within me from a loving family. To be able to come through the illness, made me value life, and having a will to live. But, life would be nothing if I did not pay forward what My Mom, Dad, and Brothers set within me. To create a platform where youth, and adult ages can benefit from what I have experienced, and have been taught.
Root: What I Value, is life, Commitment to hard work, Investing what I have learned into the lives of others, Creating and Producing the dream of the individual. I also value the help from those who have had more experience in the field / arena of music, and music production. I believe I can accomplish this goal with help of God, and the 34 years of experience as a musician, songwriter, artist, and composer. Why I believe this? Because, I have seen it work!
Root: What drives Me? Motivates Me? Every time I see that someone has benefitted from what I have share with them, that is what drives me, that is what motivates me! Are there times when I am not motivated? Of course!, but, I do not stay there! A simply reflection of the dream coming true in someone’s life keep the motivation strong, and the drive does not die out.
Changes to Our World / Problems to Solve: My prayer is that if I can just reach one person, and pour my experiences into their life, that’s one young person that now has a future goal to pursue, one life that has been made better by, “I Dare To Dream”/ MorlIkHim Productions”. In the world of music, I would like to create music that new, and refreshing! Music that is set apart from al the rest!
Brand Mantra: “ I dare to Dream”/ MorLikHim Productions: Personal Quote: “Daring to Dream, births your success”. What I bring to the table is to help those who have a desire, a dream, a passion to see their dream come to life. By taking what I have learn during my journey in life, the gift of music given to me by God, and what I have learned during my educational journey at Full Sail University, and pouring it into another Individuals life.
Brand Mantra Cont.: “ I dare to dream”/ MorLikHim Productions: Will be a multifaceted production company that will reach out to ages 18 & above. This production company is the spring board for me to take everything I’ve learned from my Dad especially , to help anyone with the desire to learn the art of music production, recording, and taking their passion to the next level: “Bringing It to Life!
Self Development: During my musical journey, I learned a great deal from those who already had more experience in the realm of music, also during high school I was privileged to go to a 2 week camp where we were taught theory, now during that time, ( It must have been the teacher, Lol!) That camp experience was so boring, it really had an negative affect on the fun of music, so most of what I Learned was by ear training. As time went by I became really proficient in learning the guitar through ear training.
Development: Ear training is great, however, I needed theory to grow as a musician, so I went to some of my friends who taught the basics of theory, and I began to understand scales, lead lines, chord structure, etc. So here again, someone pouring into my life, a valuable tool to share with others. But, I struggled with theory, to this day I am not proficient in reading , however, I’m getting there.
Development: I now have 34 years invested playing music, recording, writing and composing music. 3 years invested learning the art of recording, mixing, and music production. Through the education here at Full Sail University, I gain the knowledge of Music Production, Recording, Composition, and Music Business. Also through my education, I took that knowledge, and was able to create, and complete my first Contemporary Jazz CD, called “ Basses Loaded”.
Development: What Sets Me Apart : While some, not all, are in this business for themselves, and all the money they can make, ( and there’s nothing wrong with that ), however, taking what was invested in me, and helping many to reach their goals, gives me the edge, in this business of making music, and dreams come true. Apart from music, I have of 15 years in customer service, in retail, and healthcare field. Also, have held a leadership role in ministry, and bible study groups that is presently still going.
Development: Mistakes / Scars: Mistakes I have made, have been because I have either taken shortcuts, bad advise, or did not do what was necessary in ensure success, but, in all things, I learned from my mistakes. Scars: There were times I felt like a failure, because I allowed people to make me feel like a failure when things did not go well, there were also times, people let me down, laughed at me, had to endure ridicule, people tried to keep me in a box, when I would try and experiment musically.
Mistakes / Scars Continued: There were also times were I felt like an outsider, wanting to fit in, only to realize that “Being Set Aside” was Gods plan to improve what He has placed within me. A quote that I love is:” God Never intended for you to fit in, when He made you to stand out”. All in All, I am learning to take these scars, and, mistakes and turn them into the shovel that breaks the ground of dreams in a new life.
What I Do As A Professional: At present I am a full time student at Full Sail University since 2012. My work experience: Most recent: From 4/25/2013 – 01/04/2014, I was a Sales Associate for Guitar Center, Macon, GA. Prior to that I was a Merchandiser for Kraft Foods, 2012-2013; After that I was a Appliance Sales Associate for The Home Depot, 2011 – 2012. For a period of time before my employment with Home Depot, I was searching for employment, because my wife and I had just moved to Bonaire, GA, due to being transferred here via my wife’s job.
What Do I do as a Professional Cont.: I have been told by management in before mention positions, that I am a team player, and willing to help others without reservation, this is the answer to Why should others want to work with you? In excelleration professionally, I have received multiple awards for customer service, and, classes offered within past jobs.
What Do I Do as A Professional Continued: Job environment: The best environment for me is to be in a place where there is an excitement on everyone’s part to succeed, to work well together to get the goals at hand completed. I like a fun environment, especially in a music setting, whether it’s in rehearsal, or on stage. I don’t like an environment that is hostile, combative, ego fueled where you have people who only care about themselves, because it is a very un – productive atmosphere.
What Kinds of People do I Work Well With: I work well with energetic people, People who are striving to be successful, and to help others be successful as well. Once again, I like a fun environment, and people who like to have fun, yet still have the ability to get the goals at hand completed. I also work well with people who I can learn from, people who are not afraid to share what has made them a success.
What Kind of Worker Do I want to be: I want to be an Entrepreneur, to own my own business, to see another dream come to pass, I already envision a recording studio / production company called: “ MORLIKHIM PRODUCTIONS” ( pronounced more – like – Him ). Although I want to be an entrepreneur, I also want to roll up my sleeves as an employee to make sure the production company, and those who work for me are successful as well.
