Activity
(Introductory)
The students will be grouped accordingly. A drawing of a Pyramid is shown on the board. A volunteer from
each group will be called to answer the questions and the answers will be written in the pyramid.
Questions:
1. House number/Streetname
2. Village/Purok
3. Barangay
4. City
5. Province
6. Philippines
7. What did you notice aboutthe
8. pyramid and your answers on the board?
*The answers are written in a certain order or heirarchy
“Where we live or where we are situated should be written in a Specific-General pattern and this is also similar
to how living organisms in the Earth are arranged.”
Activity
(Presentation)
Each group will be given a set of cards with the different levels of organization written on
them and a Manila paper. They are tasked to arrange them on a pyramid for 10 minutes. A
representative will be assigned to explain as to how and why their group arranged the words
that way. After the report of each group, necessary inputs will be discussed for each level of
biological organization using a video clip and a visual aid withpictures.

1. How is the level of biological organization arranged?
2. What is the simplestlevel of biological organization?
3. What is the mostcomplexlevel of biological organization?
4. What are examples ofeach level of biological organization?
5. How does each level affect each other?
6. What would happen if there would be a change or disturbance in anylevel of biological organization?
Abstraction
SUMMARY OF THE CONCEPT:
Cells are the basic building blocks of living things. The human body is made up of trillion
of cells, all with their own specialized functions.
A tissue is an ensemble of similar cells and their extra cellular matrix from the same origin

An organ system is a group of organs that work together to perform one or more function.
Each organ does a particular job in the body.
A population is a group of organisms belonging to the same species living in the same area
interacting with one another. A community is composed of all the biotic factors of an area.
An ecosystem is a large community of living organisms (plants, animals, microbes) in a
particular area.
The biosphere is a zone of air, land, and water where organisms exist. Commonly known as
the global sum of all ecosystems.
Application Enumerate examples of living things you can find in your own home and in school. Determine the
level of biological organization they where they belong.
Assessment Directions:Fill-in the table below by writing the organ system involved in the given organs.Give one example of
an illness thatmay arise in each organ system and measures to prevent these chronic illnesses from occurring.

Activity (Introductory) The students will be grouped accordingly. A drawing of a Pyramid is shown on the board. A volunteer from each group will be called to answer the questions and the answers will be written in the pyramid. Questions: 1. House number/Streetname 2. Village/Purok 3. Barangay 4. City 5. They are tasked to arrange them on a pyramid for 10 minutes. A representative will be assigned to explain as to how and why their group arranged the words that way. After the report of each group, necessary inputs will be discussed for each level of biological organization using a video clip and a visual aid withpictures. Analysis 1.
