Rawhide’s intensive residential programs
offer flexible placement options!
With today’s tight economy and shrinking budgets, placing a youth in a residential program can be a challenge. Rawhide’s intensive
residential programs offer placement options that will benefit your agency’s substitute care budget and provide comprehensive treat-
ment objectives for your client.
About Face Community Service Corps – This 120-day military-style program is designed to help students build character, mind,
and body while experiencing the satisfaction of giving back.Through evidence-based practices such as community service, the family
teaching model, life skills development, individual, family and group counseling, and physical training, students develop a strong work
ethic and build problem solving skills while learning to take ownership for their actions.
Standard Residential Care – This program utilizes a traditional family treatment model that provides a positive, structured environ-
ment for youth. Living units are staffed with live-in Houseparents and Resident Instructors. The family environment promotes order,
stability, safety, and fun encased in unconditional love for each youth served. It also helps young men learn how to function within
healthy family dynamics with self control and respect for others, and develop produc-
tive study and recreational habits. Emotional, intellectual,
physical, social, and spiritual training are essential
elements in this program.
In addition to being one of the most
competitively priced youth residential
care centers in the state ofWisconsin,
Rawhide offers dozens of unique, value-
added services that will enhance each
student's experience, and give them
more opportunities for success.

outcomes, behaviors, and safety!
Rawhide Boys Ranch is pleased to announce our brand-new 30-Day Assessment and Stabilization Program! More intesive
than traditional outpatient services, this program is designed to provide a place for court-referred young men who need behavior
stabilization. There is nothing new about Rawhide’s experience in assessing youth and stabilizing behaviors. This program will
respond quickly to the need you have to find appropriate services and placement for the youth on your case load.
Students will live in a highly structured, residential setting with Professional Youth Care Workers. Upon arrival, a number of
assessments will be done including psycho social, behavioral, family dynamics,AODA, sexual issues, IQ, educational,
and life skills. Our caring, professional staff will work closely with you and the young man to provide a clear assessment of his
needs and provide the information you need to help determine the next steps in the treatment process.
While at Rawhide, students’ daily routines will consist of individual and group counseling, work experience projects and self-paced
schooling. Rawhide staff will stabilize negative behaviors and instill positive behaviors, respect, and responsibility.
Youth participating in the Stabilization Program will receive

Rawhide’s short-term residential program combined
with value-added offerings produces REAL results!
The About Face Community Service Corps is a 120- to 180-day military-style program for court-ordered young men. This unique
program is designed to help students build character, mind, and body while experiencing the satisfaction of giving back.
Through evidence-based practices such as community service, the family teaching model, life skills development, individual, family
and group counseling, and physical training, students develop a strong work ethic and build problem solving skills while learning to
take ownership for their actions. Cadets alternate performing community service projects and attending school at Starr Academy,
Rawhide’s on-campus school.
Carefully chosen community service projects allow cadets to work closely with field trainers to learn valuable job skills, pay
restitution, and build self-esteem.Youth experts have long believed that the act of serving others can build confidence, a sense of
responsibility, and social connectedness that is beneficial both to the young volunteer and the larger community. A recent study
confirmed that youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who volunteer demonstrated more positive civic attitudes and behaviors
than youth from disadvantaged backgrounds who didn't.*
At a cost of only $246 per day, the About Face program
provides more than residential care. Students
participate in educational, recreational and commu-
nity service activities and are eligible for alumni
and transitional services for the rest of their
lives.
