4. . It provides lending services and facilities for the
loaning in and out of library resources. Renewal of
materials and payment of fines are also handled at
the circulation desk.
5. The OPAC (Online Public Access Catalog) is the computerized
equivalent of the card catalog. It provide users the basic online
access to the Library's collection. It allows users to search the
Library's collection quickly and easily.

7. THE REFERENCE SECTION is tasked with giving assistance to
client in his quest for knowledge. The purpose of the
reference service is to extend all the help they can give in
finding the answer to client's query.
8. This section houses the collection of Graduate school books,
Theses and Dissertations.
9. This section serves as the repository for the collection and
the preservation of historically valuable documents relating
to the history of the university.
10. This houses the collection of all related
Medical books.
11. This section houses the collection of Law books and other
materials that are relevant to the needs of the Law students
and other related fields.
12. This section is a tech-infused, comfortable,
flexible leaning space with a one-stop academic
help center. there is a café, Food for thought.
13. This houses the collection of Arts and
Languages books.

19. Secure Library Borrower’s Card at the
circulation section,
Search the OPAC (Online Public Access
catalog)
You should know the location of the item,
title/author and class number,
Locate the book (books are arranged
according to Dewey Decimal Classification
System and classified according to
specialization), and
Borrowing and returning of library materials,
done at the circulation section.
20. Renewal of borrowed book/s will be allowed
once but must be reported before 9:00am
with the UCU-Library ID, LBC (Library
Borrower’s Card) and the borrowed book/s
for proper date due stamping.
Renewal through online, phone call and
texting will not be allowed.
The following are not to be renewed:
-Overdue books
-Fictions
-Books that have been reserved by
another user
21. Overdue notices are sent as reminders to
library users through texting or library
bulletin board posting. Failure to receive or
read notices does not exempt or excuse the
users in paying dues.
22. If an item is lost, the library should be notified
immediately. Overdue fines continue to be
assessed until notification is received.
All library users are responsible for the
replacement of the lost items, plus the
accumulated overdue fines.
Must be replaced with the same title, edition
and author. If the first condition is not possible,
a book on the same subject or closely related
subject may serve as a replacement. If it is no
longer available in the market, the decision to
accept the replacement is determined by the
University Librarian.
23. STUDENTS:
Students with overdue book/s or withstanding obligation to the library
will not be allowed to borrow unless library accounts are settled.
Overnight books are due before on or after 9:00 am. A fine of five pesos
(Php 5.00) per hour will be collected or Fifty five pesos (Php 55.00) a day,
including Sundays and Holidays.
A Fifty centavos (Php 0.50) per minute will be collected for overdue of
photocopying and /or Fifty five pesos (Php 55.00) per day per book.
A fine of not less than Php 100.00 per mutilated page will be collected.
Clearance. You must present your UCU library ID, Library Borrower’s Card
when you secure clearance from the library. A penalty of five pesos (Php
5.00) will be charged for each lost card
Certification. A fifty Peso (PhP 50.00) will be collected to all UCU Alumni for
Identification Card Certification.
Outgoing Referral Letter. A five Pesos (5.00) will be collected to all students
referred to use or research to other libraries.
LIBRARY PRIVILEGES OF STUDENTS WHO INCURE OVERDUE ACCOUNTS OR
HAVE BEEN FOUND VIOLATING LIBRARY POLICIES ON THREE (3) OCCASIONS
IN A GIVEN TERM SHALL BE SUSPENDED FOR ONE (1) MONTH
33. The library is a place for study and research.
Your cooperation to maintain a quiet, orderly
and clean environment is very much
appreciated.
Return borrowed materials before due date.
Protect your belongings… the library will not be
responsible for any loss or damage.
No Uniform No ID No Entry is strictly
implemented.
Re-shelving Note. When you are done with the
books you are using, do not put them back on
the shelves, put them on the book cart.
