The Challenges
Janet Davies, Practice Administrator for North Florida
Women’s Physicians was frustrated with the state of
NFWPs technology. Ms. Davies was facing inefficient
operations that come with outdated equipment, uncertainty
about the security of her technology infrastructure and lack
of guidance from her IT provider. With eleven receptionists
ComputerCare significantly improves operational
performance and network security without increasing
costs in busy medical practice.

that need to be able to use multiple workstations, issues around printing, slow internet
and peripherals failing were causing significant impact to work flow. “We were having a
lot of issues…Things were piecemealed together. People couldn’t do their jobs.” Davies
knew she needed a new provider that she could rely on to address the immediate
issues, and who would also be able to provide her strategic guidance over the long
haul. She needed to stay informed but not be immersed in technology so she could
spend her time overseeing the practice.
The Solution
ComputerCare was recommended by an acquaintance and an interview was set. After
meeting with ComputerCare, “I felt an immediate feeling of confidence that this group
knows what they are doing. They understood what I needed and were able to show me
where my network was weak or inefficient and alert me to security issues.”
ComputerCare added layers of redundancy in the form of better power management
and distribution, upgraded servers to provide a more efficient environment, and
implemented onsite and offsite managed backup for business continuity. Networking
equipment was upgraded to provide for a higher level of fault tolerance, aging routers
were replaced and both the physical and logical layers of the network were
reprogrammed. When these projects were completed, North Florida Women’s
Physicians was boarded as a managed services client so that the ongoing IT strategy
can be overseen and managed. In addition, ComputerCare provided NFWP with an
interim on-site resource to identify and eliminate the recurring “root-cause” issues
necessitating the need for onsite assistance.
The Results
Ms. Davies states the team has seen increased operational efficiency since bringing
ComputerCare on board. She no longer feels like her time is being spent putting out
technology fires and she has much more confidence in the security of her technology
infrastructure and systems. Ms. Davies states her team is performing more efficiently
and they are needing to request support significantly less often. In addition, the
improvements have generated enough savings through the elimination of the need for a
tier 1 support technician to pay for their ongoing services.
