Dear Mr. Samuels:
This letter is to advise you of the outstanding service Officer Michael Naumann has
provided the residents of 39th Avenue. The 3600-3700 blocks in particular. As our Beat
Officer, Mr. Naumann helped and guided the 39th Ave., residents through the formation
of cur Hcnne Alert Programthat resulted in many neighborhood improvements. a
heightened sense of "community" and overall, a better qualrty of life.
Prior to Officer Naumann's assistance, our neighborhood was plagued with what appeared
to be drug dealing; loitering by undesirables; nuisance activities and littering. Through the
leadership and ACTIVE participation of Officer Naumann in our meetings, neighborhood
clean-ups, patrols etc; we now have a community where it appears these disturbances are
now more the exception that the norm.
We appreciate Officer Naumann's accessibility as evidenced by his sincere offer to "page
him", in a time of need, if we couldn't reach him by other means.
Although it is primarily the residents'responsibility to maintain control of their community,
there are times when things get out of control and it's necessary to let those undesirable
forces know we intend to not "go to the dogs" and "take our neighborhoods back". This
is what happened on 39th Ave and continues to happen. However, we all recognize
Officer Naumann's support as a _igI contributine factor to our success.
Officer Naumann's involvement is a fine example of the positive outcomes achieved when
the police and community work together for the same cause. His efforts exemplifli the
motto, "to protect and serye"
Thank you for allowing the 39th Avenue residents the opportunity to work with Officer
Naumann and we look forward to a continued relationship.
