4. Key StrategiesCU In Israel: Clark University Birthright
ā¢ Brand Strategy/ Social Media
ā¢ Israel Outdoors has a strong brand
presence that I was able to capitalize on
this recruitment season. I created flyers
and email templates that shared the
beauty of Israel/familiar faces to entice
students to come on the trip.
ā¢ I continued utilizing #ClarkUBirthright
on Facebook and the Clark Birthright
Instagram. Posting weekly. When
people click the hashtag, content from
multiple seasons comes up, adding to
the consistency of the brand name.

my recruiting effort: posts on Facebook
and Instagram, and emails through
Mailchimp.

Artist in Tzfat: Tzfat Gallery of Mysticado, lychee and citrus fruits,
raises meat and dairy cattle, and is the home of a Palram plastics
factory. They also produce olive oil and dairy products that are used
and sold on the kibbutz. We will have a tour of the kibbutz and lunch
in their dining hall.

I requested it would be a great opportunity for the students if a Masa
representative could come talk to our group. This is a great way for me
to incorporate my Israel experience as well will also promote a GBTI
option.

The Arava institute plans to come to Clark for a social justice
sedar. Israeli and Palestinian so students can learn how Israelis,
Palestinians, and students from around the world are using
environmental studies to build trust in the Middle East.
> Letās Talk Israel
Ongoing, weekly conversations about Israel with the
Worcester area Young Emissaries. They lead
discussions about hot topics from an Israeli student
perspective.

Clark students host Young Emissaries from the New England area for
an Israel themed Shabbat, Traditional and Liberal services and dinner,
and on Saturday, we will have a brunch and discussion about what life

Invited Birthright alumni to meet the new IACT and
enjoy ice cream with past and current trip members
> Sukkah Building and Take-Down
Students put up and decorated, and took down the
sukkah, while discussing the significance of the
holiday of Sukkot. Hillel hosted several events in the
sukkah throughout the week.

> Challah for Hunger
Each month students come together in two days to
make dough, then braid and bake Challah to sell as a
fundraiser for Rachelās Table and Challah for Hunger
national. Each challah baking event is attended by 5-
10 students who bake and then sell challah in the UC
the following day.
> Tikkun Olam Discussion
Students learned what Tikkun Olam is while
discussing social justice issues currently affecting the
world.
> Bras for a Cause
Tikkun Olam committee worked with Relay for Life to
decorate bras to go on display in honor of Breast
Cancer Awareness month

> The David Project
This is the 4th academic year Clark has been working with The
David Project. There are 3 interns, 3 Jewish BRI alumni
working towards creating relationships with non-Jewish
campus leaders to create a stronger positive outlook on Israel.
> AIPAC
We have a strong interest from students in participating in
AIPAC events. One student went to Seban and two students
(one Jewish and one non-Jewish) went to Progressive Student
retreat. We will be sending students to the Policy Conference
in March.

Executive Board and Committees: Religious Observance, Israel and Zionism, Social Arts
and Culture, Tikkun Olam
> Clarkies for Israel (CFI)
They are a pro-Israel group dedicated to educating students about Israel and how to
advocate for the country. They believe that a solution that creates two homelands for
two peoples is the best way to secure Israel's democratic and Jewish future while
simultaneously supporting the self-determination of the Palestinian people. CFI works
with CAMERA, ZOA, AIPAC, and Stand With Us. Hillel and CFI occasionally co-sponsor
events together.
> J Street U
Hold many Dialogue Based events, linked to National J Street Movement dedicated to a
two-state solution. Havenāt co-sponsored an event with Hillel this semester.
