FedEx Express is the world’s largest company and a global leader in
express transportation business. Since 1984, the company has set foot
in Hong Kong, bringing in fast and reliable delivery services to the Asia
Pacific. FedEx Express utilizes its global air-and-ground network to
provide time-sensitive and speed delivery to more than 220 countries
and locations across the globe. Citing potential growth in the Asia
Pacific market, the company has extended its FedEx International First
service in Indonesia, Korea, Malaysia; and its retail network in the
Philippines in 2014. In the year 2015, FedEx Express Hong Kong chose
AIESEC as the talent sourcing partner to meet its needs for strategic
expansion in the Asia Pacific market.

FedEx access to a global network, reaching young talents across 120 countries. After the company has
hired Chetan, an AIESEC intern from India, they have developed a concept of training and coaching
international talents in Hong Kong, Asia Pacific’s regional office.

Catherine concluded, “The operations of the regional office require interns to have better clarity on the
organizational hierarchy, communication channels and project management across regions such as the

have completed the internship program in Hong Kong, they can bring back the diverse experience and
expertise back to their home countries and to the respective local office. This helps increase the synergy
between the local offices and regional office; thus, grow our business across the region.”
Regarding her working experience with Chetan, she praised Chetan for his optimistic working and

events, including soccer games, marathon and volunteering events.

Working in FedEx Express
To develop employee engagement and motivation in the workplace, FedEx Express pays close attention to
People Management. They believe that employees are the most valuable assets of the company, thus the
“Employee Satisfaction Feedback” scheme was introduced to better fulfil the satisfaction among their
employees. “People-Service-Profit (PSP) Philosophy” is the 2nd principle that FedEx Express live by every
day. By investing in employees; they will provide better services to the customers; profit is earned through
customer satisfaction; and in turn, the profit can be invested in employees again.
As a marketing analyst intern, Chetan assists the regional office to conduct big data analysis and develop
predictive models on customer behavior. “Here, I was assigned with projects, along with timelines. I would
have to set goals and milestones to myself every week and keep track of them all the time. It was
challenging, at the same time, very rewarding, as I have learnt to prioritize tasks without losing focus on
my goals at the end of the day. In the beginning, I faced a few obstacles, but I was given the resources and
support from my colleagues to overcome them. FedEx is a company that highly supports personal growth,
as a human being, team player and a leader. They have given me the space to choose my working style;
achieve what I want and what to learn.”
