WORK EXPERIENCE
Precision Planting (Tremont, IL) May 2015-August 2015
Engineering Intern – Research and Development
o Designed a SpeedTube mounting bracket in Pro-E.
o Used the 3D Printer for developing test iterations of the bracket.
o Produced detailed drawings for the manufacturer of the final test component. This component
enabled Precision Planting to ensure the reliability of SpeedTube operations on the vSet meter test
stand.
o Traveled to customer locations to remove test equipment from tractors and gather feedback from
farmers.
o Revised an instruction booklet for installing SpeedTube Guards.
o Learned how to operate lathes, mills, drills, etc. in a machine shop
o Performed reliability testing on a four row planter for specific soil conditions.
Monsanto (St. Louis, MO) May 2014-August 2014
Engineering Intern – Crop Analytics
o Modified Solid Works designs for eight sub-assemblies of the Advanced Corn Chipper and checked
them back in to the Vault.
o Submitted improved part schematics for 3D Printer.
o Improved flow, accuracy, and efficiency of seed singulation and created engineering drawings for
fabrication by machine shop.
o Performed several iterations of testing and re-design.
o Participated in engineering design team meetings.
o Presented designs, test results, and gained consensus on next phases of testing.
o Starred in the engineering department Lock-Out Tag-Out safety video.
(Project loading, migration, singulation, diversion, elevation, imaging, chipping, and separation.)
Bradley University Grader for Fluid Thermodynamics (Peoria, IL) January 2015-December 2015
BRADLEY UNIVERSITY SENIOR PROJECT
Client: Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) August 2015-May 2016
A team composed of four senior mechanical engineers from Bradley University, including myself, is currently
working with a team of engineers from ADM.
Our goal is to recapture lost work from stepping down steam in ADM’s powerhouse facility in Peoria and use it
to offset ADM’s current utility costs as well as provide economic and systematic sustainability.
Our project consists of conducting the analysis and designs for a power generation system, absorption chillers,
or a system to recompress vapors.
