I am including for you my resume and cover letter in regards to the open position.
During my management career I have had an opportunity to lead people, teams, and projects both in
an office and manufacturing setting. My skills were developed in a continuous improvement
environment where I was trained to lead lean events that were kaizen or lean based. I have many
unique qualities that make me a passionate project person!
What makes me unique?
I am an ever-evolving person that thrives on change. For 5 years at Pella Corporation I earned a spot
as a continuous improvement Team Leader that ran week long projects and entire teams through the
change management process. In this time I lead and was involved in countless process improvement
teams. In my current role I used my past training to improve documentation, processes, and work
flow.
I am extremely flexible and adaptable. While most peopleconfuse this with a laid back attitude, it’s
really that I don’t sweat the small stuff. I have demonstrated this in my interim role as Policies and
Procedures coordinator here at Sears. In this role, I managed the Des Moines side of outsourcing of
data entry work from documenting the tribal knowledge, developinga project timeline for transition,
and training our offshore team. This included daily and weekly meetings and communications to
ensure that timelines were being met.
If I don’t have a challenge, I will create one. I like to grow and learn and figure things out. This is
demonstrated by my creation, ownership, and management of Pella Corporation’s Contact Center
standard work project. I saw a need, created a team, and managed this large and lengthy share point
documentation center. This was a great way for me to learn document control, share point site
development, and project management, as well as use my technical writing skills from my
communications background! I knew nothing when I started and became the SME!
I am a capable and proven leader who believes that customer/employees want to feel valued. I am a
leader who inspires innovation and embraces risk taking. I empower both individuals and teams to do
what is right for our customers, balanced by company objectives.
I feel that I can be a valued asset to your team, and I am looking forward to speaking with you soon!
Sincerely,
Melody Esch
