The document summarizes a factory visit by students to Northern Fashion Limited, a knit composite factory. The key sections covered in the factory include:
1. The knitting section which uses weft and warp knitting machines to produce single jersey, double jersey, interlock, and warp knit fabrics.
2. The dyeing section which uses reactive dyeing processes and has dyeing machines with capacities up to 60 tons per day.
3. The finishing section which includes calendaring and compacting to improve fabric texture.
4. The garments section covers cutting, different printing methods like hand block and automatic printing, and the line layout for sewing.

3. Introduction:
A factory tour is an organised visit to a factory to
see things being manufactured and processes at
work. Manufacturing companies offer factory
tours as public relations.
so this time our tour was Northern Fashion
Limited.
4. Northern Fashion Limited is knit composite factory so
we want go through Sequentially according to our visit
Knitting Section:
Knitting is a method by which yarn is manipulated to
create a textile or fabric. Knitting creates multiple loops
of yarn, called stitches, in a line or tube. Knitting has
multiple active stitches on the needle at one time. Knitted
fabric consists of a number of consecutive rows of
interlocking loops
Northern Fashion Limited have a knitt section at 3rd floor
They have 2 types knitting system
Weft knitting
Warp knitthing
5. Knitting Section:
Weft Knittting:
Single jersey machine :The amount of single jersey machine is 8,and they produced Striper Fabric
Double jersey machine :The amount of double jersey machine is 4
6. Knitting Section:
Interlock machine: They have 2 interlock machine and they produced double knit fabric
Warp knitting machine:They have 2 warp knitting machine, they use it very rarely
8. Dyeing Sector:
Dyeing: Dyeing is the process of adding color to textile products like fibers,
yarns, and fabrics. Dyeing is normally done in a special solution containing dyes
and particular chemical material. After dyeing, dye molecules have uncut
chemical bond with fiber molecules.
Northern Fashion Limited have dyeing and finishing sector
They have 4 dyeing machine and 5 sample dyeing machine and the capacity is
60 tone per day.
9. Dyeing Sector:
They have one 1400 kg capacity machine which have 8 doors and 4
chamber
1050 kg capacity machine have 3 doors
And 1200 kg capacity machine have 8 doors and 8 nozzle
Reactive dyeing process of this industry that we saw there is given
below
Load the fabric
Scouring(100˚C for 50 min)
Cooling(85˚C
PC(AAT 90˚c for 10 min)
Wash(cold wash)
10. Dyeing Sector:
Acid(Remove alkali need pΉ-4.5)
Anzime (55˚C for 40-50 min)
Hot wash(Need PH-5.5-6)
Deying(shade match)
Wash (cold wash)
Acid(Acetic acid)
Wash
RDC(Hot 90°C for 10 min)
Cold Wash
11. Dyeing Sector:
Finishing: In textile manufacturing, finishing refers to the processes
that convert the woven or knitted cloth into a usable material and
more specifically to any process performed after dyeing the yarn or
fabric to improve the look, performance, or "hand" (feel) of the finish
textile or clothing.
They have Stenter machine and compactor for finishing
Calendering
A process of passing cloth between rollers (or "calendars"), usually
under carefully controlled heat and pressure, to produce a variety of
surface textures or effects in fabric such as compact, smooth, supple,
flat and glazed.
12. Dyeing Sector:
Compacting:
Durable finish imparted on man-made fibres and knitted fabrics by employing
heat and pressure to shrink them to produce a crepey and bulky texture.
13. Garments Section:
Cutting: Cutting section is one of the most important section for manufacturing
garments in Garments Factory .There is a process or sequence which is strictly
followed in the cutting section of a garment manufacturing industry.
Process Sequence in Cutting Room:
Marker Making
↓
Fabric Spreading
↓
Placing Marker Paper on to the Lay
↓
Fabric Cutting
↓
Numbering
↓
1 00% checking & Parts Replacing if needed.
↓
Shorting & Bundling
↓
Sewing/Assembling
14. Garments Section:
The plan lay out of this section is
Line with center table and operators facing opposite direction :In this line a centre
table placed in between two rows of sewing machines. All operators sot on
workstation facing opposite direction. This lay out is more convenient to all
operators for picking up work from left side.
