The document contains summaries of several design projects by Meghan McInnes including:
1) A restaurant concept in Las Vegas called "Lustrius" that uses lighting and water features to create an immersive experience of the city's energy and magic.
2) A corporate design office that functionally and creatively supports users.
3) A learning centre in Mississauga for mentally challenged individuals aged 4-24 that includes classrooms, a fibre optic room, and a snoozelen room.
6. RESTAURANT: LAS VEGAS
Las Vegas is an energetic city, the best concept to
use to describe this energy and illusion of lights is
the magic of the city. By having a certain energy
based design it will reflect the night life as well as
pool and streams. The idea is to create an
experience like were walking through the central of
Las Vegas in a restaurant by including the energy of
lights from street lamps, signage and buildings.
Using magic in the city by using illusions through out
the space By keeping 24 foot ceilings assists the
aspect of being outdoors at night and watching the
water fountains create what appears to be the
‘Magic in the City’ which will be water walls in the
space and dark curtains. This space is meant to
create an experience of social and life in Las Vegas,
bringing the ‘Magic in the city’ into a restaurant
within everyone’s reach24

20. CHARRATTE
The design of the pop-up Dakota Tavern
Restaurant located in Toronto Ontario is
inspired by 1940 post-war western design.
It’s context focused on the resume of
available materials and resources throughout
the entire space which demonstrated
function, form and space. The structure of
the space is multi-functional which
accommodates services such as food
preparation, marketing and social gathering.
This mobile structure captivates the option to
be an indoor and outdoor environment which
is accessible to everyone while promoting the
Dakota Tavern brand and food.
Project worked on with: Alanah Luongo,
Rebecca DeAbreu and Ekaterina Fedorashko.16

24. RESTAURANT: UKRAINE
To create a restaurant and bar that will serve
as a catalyst for the revitalization of the
Barrie area. The objectives that I will receive
from accomplishing this project will be
further studies in elements and principles of
design in creating interior environments as
well as the exploration of culture to create a
unique restaurant design. I will also gain
experience in the development of design and
utilizing research techniques, practicing in
measurements of existing buildings and
transferring them into our own drawing as
well as gaining experience in applying colour
theory to interior spaces and learning the
methods and principles in complying interior
construction drawings.20
