1. PSD: Native file format. If you use only photoshop as your image editor then its is
most flexible. Large file size
2. JPEG: (Joint Photographic Experts group) this format is mostly used for image that
will be displayed on screen or web. Small file size, data is lost during compression.
3. GIF: (Graphics Interchange Format) this format is not used for photographs
because it only contain 256 colors but file size is small, support transparency
4. PNG: (Portable Network Graphics)Same as GIF but mainly used for web graphics
5. PDF: (Portable Document Format) Very useful for displaying files across multiple
platforms and applications.

• Rectangular Marquee Tool: Selects an area in your image in a
rectangular box. Hold the Shift key to make the selection a square
• Lasso Tool: Selects an area in image in a free form shape.
• Crop Tool: Trims the part of an image according to the selection.
• Hand Tool: Moves or drags photo in the Photoshop Elements
workspace.
