In Bangladesh safety in construction
is not a serious issue and is
neglected quite often.
For proper development and
growth of economy safety concern
is must.
It is also an industry where extensive
use of labor is required, and where
such large amount of human labor is
involved a matter of safety arises.
5. WHAT IS SAFETY?
•Venus
•Here you could
describe
Theoretically, safety would mean the absence
of danger at work which is made possible by
eliminating hazards that create the danger.
01

6. How could you get Your life in
danger?
QUESTION - 1 QUESTION - 2
What could hurt you or
make you sick where you

Hazard may cause harm if not in
control (uncontrolled hazards).
Source or condition which has potential
to cause injury and/or ill health to
humans, damage to property or damage
to workplace or environment or
combination of any of the above.
22. Ergonomic hazards can cause painful and disabling injuries till
example Musculoskeletal Disorders (MSDs) . This following
situation may cause these injuries:
● Heavy, frequent, or awkward lifting
● Repetitive tasks
● Awkward grips, postures
● Using excessive force, overexertion
● Using wrong tools for the job or using tools improperly
● Using improperly maintained tools
ERGONOMIC HAZARDS

AND consequences/ effect for a particular
hazard to happen.

29. What is your roles?
Safety and health at work is the responsibility of
every employer and employee.
Cooperation between employers and employees is
very important to avoid any incident that threatens
the safety and health at work.

● Hearing Protection
● Hand Protection
● Body Protection
● Head Protection
● Foot Protection
● Respiratory Protection
USE PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

58. HAZARD, RISK AND CONTROLING MEASURES
SCAFFOLDING
• The scaffolding should be designed, erected, modified, maintained
and dismantled by ONLY competent and skilled workers.
• Mandatory requirement to inspect and approve the scaffolding once
in a week or after bad weather (rains, heavy storm etc) and such
inspection should be recorded.
67. A safe working environment
can be very easily achieved
by the proper knowledge and
interaction of the contractor,
designer and the laborers.
Safety is very important in the
construction industry but the safety
scenario in the construction industry,
especially in Bangladesh is very poor,
which results in lot’s of casualties
which hampers the normal working of
the project.
