Camera Shots – What shots are used and why?
In the advert the camera changes shots very quickly. It uses mainly longs shot to show
the actress walking forward and medium shows to show her taking her jewellery off
and her clothes.

The advert is set in what we assume is France due to the fact Dior is a French designer and
the women in the advert also has a French accent. The jewellery she wears seems to be very
expensive and the apartment she’s in seems very big. France is known as the romantic
capital of the world which is why the advert uses sex appeal.
Advertising Techniques – What techniques are used and why?
Sex appeal is used in this advert all the way through due to the fact the women who stars in
the advert ends up taking all her clothes off and we end up seeing a silhouette of her body.
She is also very young and attractive which also adds to the sex appeal factor.
The advert also uses the famous south African actress CharlizeTeron which the audience will
be more drawn too. The advert uses Ethos
Narrative – What is the story of the ad, characters, settings, conflicts, resolutions
The advert shows a women ripping all her expensive jewellery off and throwing it on
the floor putting the message across that she’s bored with all her expensive items. She
then ends up taking all her clothes of and revealing her naked body which is Dior’s way
of suggesting nothing else matters unless your body feels and smells nice.
Target Audience – Who is the product for?
For women between the age of 18-35 which is why the advert uses a young pretty women.

Sounds - What can you hear?
There’s a song used in the background which has a very flirtatious beat about it. There is also
a voice over from the actress saying “gold is cold, diamonds are dead, a limousine is a car,
don’t pretend feel what’s real” The sound then cuts to her saying it out of her mouth
“j’adore” which is what the name of the perfumes called.
