To Whom It May Concern,
It is with great pleasure that I write this letter of recommendation for Mary Diesch. It’s also
a very easy letter to write as Mary is just such an exceptional young lady.
I first met Mary in April of 2013 when she interviewed for the Student Ministry Assistant
position at Canton First United Methodist Church. After having looked at Mary’s resume, I
must admit I was skeptical about her with regards to the position for which she was
interviewing due to her age and lack of experience. By the end of that first interview I was
convinced Mary was exactly what our student ministry needed.
Mary has a presence and maturity well beyond her age. Mary exhibits a confidence while
also being so willing to learn and grow both professionally and personally. Mary’s gifts are
many but she is constantly tuning and improving. Mary has an incredibly positive attitude
and her enthusiasm is contagious. Mary is also polite, punctual and very hard working.
Mary’s greatest gift as it pertains to teaching may well be her ability to develop strong
relationships with the students while gaining their respect and maintaining her authority. It
is so awesome to see her office packed with students between services and Sunday school.
Mary has also gained the respect and trust of the parents of our students and the adult
volunteers within the ministry.
Obviously, I think the world of Mary Diesch, not only as my assistant, but as a person and a
friend. Mary will be sorely missed at Canton FUMC and extremely difficult to replace. Any
school system hiring Mary will be blessed to have her.
