Marina De Luca is a biotechnologist living in Germany with expertise in proteomics. She has a Master's degree in Agro-Industrial Biotechnology from the University of Verona, where she conducted her thesis on differential proteomic analysis of a major depression model in rat brain. Her work experience includes an internship at GlaxoSmithKline analyzing a depression model using proteomic and statistical analysis techniques. She has published papers on proteomic changes in rat brain tissue after antidepressant treatment.

Analysis of a major depression model as part of project “Gendep”. The aim
of the project is a better functional characterization of the molecular
mechanisms of the depression therapy through the integration of scientific
results obtained from clinic and pre-clinic research area. Analysis conducted
using differential proteomic approach based on bi-dimensional
electrophoresis with mass spectrometry and analyzing results using PD-
Quest software, t-Student and Partial Least Square (PLS) statistical tests.
Using mass spectrometry, the modulated proteins were identified using
peptide-mass fingerprinting.
