The Republic of Moldova is a small country located in Eastern Europe near the Black Sea. Its capital and largest city is Chisinau, located in the center of the country, which has a population of around 750,000 people. Moldovan was formerly part of the Soviet Union and Russian is still widely spoken, though the official language is Romanian. The population of Moldova is around 3.5 million people.

CURCHI MONASTERY
Curchi Monastery is one of the most important
architectural monuments of Bessarabia, and it is also
considered to be one of the most beautiful and
famous monasteries of the region. Monastery's main
church, the cathedral Naşterea Domnului (1872), was
built in baroque style and was designed by Italian
architect Bartolomeo Rastrelli.
7. MAMALIGA
Without a doubt, ‘mămăliga’, or
polenta, is Moldova’s best known
and most traditional dish. Polenta is
made from corn flour, to which a
little butter is added.
It is generally served with sheep’s
cheese or cottage cheese and sour
cream.

SARMALE
‘Sarmale‘ or stuffed cabbage rolls are one of those
dishes that feature heavily in the cuisine of many
Eastern European countries.These are cabbage rolls
stuffed with rice and minced pork or chicken along
with chopped onion and carrots that are slowly
simmered. Unlike in some other cuisines, in Moldovan
cuisine, they are served with big dollops of sour
cream.Sometimes, they are made with grapevine
leaves rather than cabbage leaves.
PLACINTA
Moldovan pies are a close second when it
comes to most traditional Moldovan foods.
There are several types of pies you
shouldn’t miss. For a savory taste, try the
cheese pies, cabbage pies, and potato
pies.And for those with a sweet tooth, try
the cherry pies, apple pies, and pumpkin
pies.
8. TRADITIONAL MOLDOVAN CLOTHES The traditional Moldavian costume is the
evidence of high needlewomen skill, a
sample of beauty that can tell us about
ancient traditions. Each girl had to create
her unique festive costume with a glance to
local traditions, demonstrating her
aesthetic taste. In the past, it was
impossible to find two identical female
costumes; they had different patterns,
colors, proportions. The traditional
Moldovan blouse "ia" is the main piece of
the costume.

consists of four villages:
Pepeni, Pepenii Noi, Răzălăi
and Romanovca.

Theoretical Lyceum"A.Agapie"
was founded by Alexandru
Agapie in 1867 ,who was a priest,
in village Pepeni. There are
studying 867 pupils who are
assigned in classes formed of
approximately 26 pupils. The
lessons are 45 minutes long and
there are breaks of 10-15minutes
between the lessons. The pupils
are studying 14 subjects
including 3 languages (French,
English and Russian).
