4. ● Throughout our music video and ancillary texts we kept a continuous
theme running through them all to sustain our ideas and stick to the
conventions of the indie genre. Firstly we used a colour wash (teal and
orange) over the shots within our music video to add to the aspect of it
being a hazy, indie themed band. We got inspiration for this from The
Pierces' music video 'You'll be Mine'.

Not only did we use these conventions within our
music video we also carried this through to our
digipack and website. The colour wash was also used
in the images which we edited on photoshop to add to
the indie conventions within our media products. We
added this effect to give an American retro feel to the
music video, website and digipack and to create a
summer hazy effect over these products.
5. In addition we also used similar font styles on both the website and the digipack.
We used this style of font because it looks
like a very retro 60's style which is the
direction we wanted to take for the band.
Moreover we used the image of the
record player which again is a symbol
of the 60's.
The image of the record player is shown in the
music video and again in the digipack to
emphasise this indie retro style which we
wanted to use to symbolise the band.

6. We also created a persona for the characters within the music video. This was not
only shown through the music video, we also presented in within the website and
the digipack. As part of our post production work we had done a photoshoot with
the two band members and these images were going to be edited and used on our
website and as part of the digipack.
Throughout the video we had created the person of the lead band member being a
very generic young teenage girl, fantasising over a boy. And we had created the hard
to get, popular persona for the boy. These were then used in part to describe the
real band members within our website on the bio page. We had given them different
names which we thought matched this persona, and would appeal to the target
audience even more. Their personas also linked back to the recurring theme of the
indie genre which ran thoughout all our media products; music video, website and
digipack.
7. How well did all the media products
work together?
I believe that all our media products worked very well together. The music video,
being the main part of the project allowed us to create themes and motifs which
we would carry through onto our digipack and website that would link all the
products together. This helped us created a distinctive persona for the band
which would be individual and appeal to their target audience. The website
enhanced this persona, as we included extra information about the band and its
individual members. This helped us create a connection between the band and
it’s target audience .
