YOM KIPPUR
Feast of Yom Kippur
Learning to Prophesy
Marco Lafebre
Leviticus 23:26-32 (NKJV)
 The Day of Atonement
 26 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
 27 “Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall
be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy
convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls,
and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.
 28 And you shall do no work on that same day, for
it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for
you before the LORD your God.
 29 For any person who is not afflicted in soul on that
same day shall be cut off from his people.
Leviticus 23:26-32 (NKJV)
 30 And any person who does any work on that
same day, that person I will destroy from
among his people.
 31 You shall do no manner of work; it shall be a
statute forever throughout your generations in
all your dwellings.
 32 It shall be to you a Sabbath of solemn rest,
and you shall afflict your souls; on the
ninth day of the month at evening, from
evening to evening, you shall celebrate your
Sabbath.”
THE MEANING OF YOM KIPPUR
 Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement.
The word Yom means “Day”,
and Kippur is derived from the Hebrew
word Kaphar meaning “to cover’.
 So Atonement, means “to cover”.
 On Yom Kippur the high priest was to
make “a covering” for the sins of Israel
committed in the year.
THE APOINTED TIME OF
YOM KIPPUR
 The feast of Yom Kippur falls on the
10th day of Tishri, the seventh month of
the Hebrew Calendar.
 Yom Kippur falls between the Feast of
Trumpets on the 1st and the Feast of
Tabernacles on the 15th of the month.
Yom Kippur
 The focus of this day is: A day of
national repentance and the
forgiveness of sins.
 When the first Temple was standing, the
Day of Atonement was only a temporary
measure until the next year, when the
whole process would be repeated.
 The Passover lamb was only a picture of
a greater fulfillment
FULFILLMENT OF YOM KIPPUR
 The rehearsal of Yom Kippur will come
to and end when the prophetic scene be
fulfilled.
 The national repentance will one day
occur when the nation of Israel comes
to a national realization of Jesus as
Messiah.
Mourning for the Pierced One
 Zechariah 12:9-10
 New King James Version (NKJV)
 9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to
destroy all the nations that come
against Jerusalem.
Mourning for the Pierced One
 10 “And I will pour on the house of David
and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the
Spirit of grace and supplication; then
they will look on Me whom they
pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him
as one mourns for his only son, and
grieve for Him as one grieves for a
firstborn.
Main idea of Yom Kippur
 The central idea of Yom Kippur is of the
need for national repentance leading to
national salvation.
 The feasts of the Lord show the plan of
God to take Israel from a state of
disobedience and alienation from God
to redemption.
The High Priest
 It was on Yom Kippur, the only day of
the year that the High Priest was
allowed to enter the Holy of Holiest with
the blood of lambs and goats, to present
offerings for the atonement for himself
and for the people.
The High Priest
 It was in this only occasion that the High
Priest could pronounce in the Holy of
Holies, the unpronounceable name of
the Lord.
The High Priest
 The high priest was to represent the nation
before the Lord on Yom Kippur.
 The atonement of the nation was
dependent on the high priest doing his job.
 Therefore, to safeguard against any
problems one week before the day, the
High Priest left his home and moved to the
Temple.
THE PREPARATION
 He was sprinkled with ashes from the
“Red Heifer” during the week, to make
sure he was ritually pure in case he
could have come in contact with a dead
body or some other event.
 (Numbers 19:1-10)
THE PREPARATION
 A substitute was also appointed for the
high priest should he die or become
unclean.
 The substitute was the captain of the
Temple having command of the officers
and Temple guard.
 (Acts 4:1, 5:24, 26) Peter is confronted
by the captain of the Temple guard.
Acts 4:1(NKJV)
 Peter and John Arrested
 4 Now as they spoke to the people, the
priests, the captain of the temple, and
the Sadducees came upon them,
Acts 5:24, 26 (NKJV)
 24 Now when the high priest, the captain
of the temple, and the chief priests
heard these things, they wondered what
the outcome would be.
 26 Then the captain went with the
officers and brought them without
violence, for they feared the people, lest
they should be stoned.
THE PREPARATION
 During the week leading up to Yom
Kippur, the high priest would conduct
Temple sacrifices.
 He would also practice for the Yom
Kippur service so there would be no
mistakes
THE PREPARATION
 Normally, he only washes his hands
and feet; but on Yom Kippur he would
wash fully immersed in the laver.
 He would change five times into and out
of his two sets of priestly garments.
 The morning priestly garments were
different from the garment the high
priest would wear on Yom Kippur.
THE MORNING SERVICE
 The Temple service on Yom Kippur
began at dawn on 10th of Tishri.
 The High Priest would also wash
himself fully in the laver in the Court of
Priest.
Using Linen Garments
 The high priest would wear the
garments prescribed in the Law.
 However, on Yom Kippur, the high
priest was to wear linen garments, and
to bath fully.
 (Leviticus 16:4)
Aaron Priestly Garments Diagram.
Priest garments
Leviticus 16:4 (NKJV)
 4 He shall put the holy linen tunic and
the linen trousers on his body; he
shall be girded with a linen sash, and
with the linen turban he shall be
attired. These are holy garments.
Therefore he shall wash his body in
water, and put them on.
Linen Garments
THE AFTERNOON SERVICE
 The Yom Kippur service was the focus
of the Afternoon Service.
 The High priest would make sacrifices
for himself and the people.
The furniture of the Tabernacle
THE CONFESSION OF THE HIGH PRIEST
 The first thing the high priest was
required to do after bathing and
changing into his linen garments was to
confess his sins over the bull. He
was to take his two hands and place
them on the bull; the blood of the bull
would later be sprinkled at the Holy of
Holies.
 The bull was the priest’s sin offering.
Priests Sin Offering
Pronouncing the name of God
 Three times during this period he would
utter the name of the Lord (YHWH).
When the name of the Lord was spoken
the people and high priest would fall on
their faces and repeat the words,
“Blessed be His name whose
glorious kingdom is forever and
ever!”.
THE TWO GOATS
 After confessing his sins on the bull, the
high priest would move to the eastern
side of the altar.
 There, two goats were brought to him,
escorted by the deputy high priest and
the chief high priest of the divisions of
priests.
 (I Chron. 24:1-19)
THE TWO GOATS
Sin Offering and Scapegoat
 Two lots were placed in a golden vessel;
 One inscribed with “For YHWH”,
 The other “For Azael” (Scapegoat).
 The goat chosen for the Lord became a sin
offering, the other the scapegoat, let loose
into the wilderness.
 The “For Azael” goat was identified with a
crimson cord around its horns. After the
goats were chosen the high priest returned
to the bull.
The Scapegoat
THE SIN OFFERING
 When the priest returned to the bull, he
would confess the sins of the
priesthood;
 After confessing the sins of the
priesthood, the high priest would then
slay the bull and his blood would be
collected in a golden bowl. An attending
priest would stir the bowl of blood so it
would not clot.
Leviticus 16:11 (NKJV)
 11 “And Aaron shall bring the bull of
the sin offering, which is for himself,
and make atonement for himself and
for his house, and shall kill the bull
as the sin offering which is for
himself.
THE BURNING OF INCENSE
 After the high priest slaughters the bull,
he is to take coals from the altar, along
with fragrant incense, and enter the holy
of holies.
 The high priest would then put the
incense on the coals.
 The area would be then filled with
smoke, concealing the mercy seat.
Coals from the altar and
Fragrant Incense
SPRINKLING OF BLOOD
 The high priest, after filling the holy of
holies with incense, would then leave the
room and go to the priest with the bowl
of bulls’ blood and retrieve it.
 He would then take the blood with him to
the Holy of Holies behind the curtain. He
would sprinkle the blood on the Mercy
Seat (Atonement cover). He would
sprinkle the blood seven times.
Leviticus 16:14 (NKJV)
 14 He shall take some of the blood of
the bull and sprinkle it with his finger
on the mercy seat on the
eastside; and before the mercy seat
he shall sprinkle some of the blood
with his finger seven times.
Sprinkling the blood
 The Arc of the Covenant was no
longer present in the Second Temple.
Some accounts say that the Arc was
hidden by Jeremiah from the
Babylonians in Mt. Nebo.
 Therefore, the 2nd Temple did not
have the Arc;
 And so, the 3rd Temple does not need
an Arc.
The goat for the Lord
 The priest would again leave the Holy of
Holies and go to the goat that was
chosen for the Lord.
 This goat would be slain, and its blood
collected.
 The priest would return to the sacred
area for the third time and sprinkle the
blood of the goat on the Atonement
Seat.
Leviticus 16:15 (NKJV)
 15 “Then he shall kill the goat of the
sin offering, which is for the people,
bring its blood inside the veil, do
with that blood as he did with the
blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on
the mercy seat and before the mercy
seat.
The Mercy Seat
Sprinkling on the horns of the altar
 The priest was then to take some of the
blood from the bull and goat and put it
on all the horns of the altar. He would
also sprinkle it seven times with his
finger.
 (Leviticus 16:18-20)
Sprinkling on the horns of the altar
Leviticus 16:18-20 (NKJV)
 18 And he shall go out to the altar
that is before the LORD, and make
atonement for it, and shall take some of
the blood of the bull and some of the
blood of the goat, and put it on the
horns of the altar all around.19 Then he
shall sprinkle some of the blood on it
with his finger seven times, cleanse it,
and consecrate it from the uncleanness
of the children of Israel.
Leviticus 16:20 (NKJV)
 20 “And when he has made an end of
atoning for the Holy Place, the
tabernacle of meeting, and the altar,
he shall bring the live goat.
Confessing the sins of Israel
THE SCAPEGOAT
 After the priest was finished with
placing the blood on the altar, the
priest then returned to the living goat.
 He would place his hands on the
goat and confess the sins of Israel
over him.
 Then a man would lead the goat off
into the wilderness, carrying the sins
of Israel with him.
Into the wilderness
Burning the remains
 Everybody would wait to receive news
of the success of the scapegoat being
led into the wilderness.
 The remains of the bull and goat were
removed and taken outside Jerusalem
to be burned.
Removing the fire pan
 The priest would enter the Holy of
Holies a fifth time to remove the
incense ladle and fire pan.
 He would then bathe for a fifth, and final
time; changing into his traditional
priestly garments..
Evening Service
 He would then perform the normal
evening Temple service.
 In the evening of the 10th of Tishri Yom
Kippur would conclude
No more wandering
 After the 2nd Temple was erected, the
scapegoat was led out about 12 miles
from the Temple to a rocky cliff and was
pushed off the cliff so it would not
wander into inhabited areas.
Pushed off the cliff
Prophetic hints
 This feast points out to the reconciliation
of the Israelites with God.
 The prophetical picture of this feast will
be accomplished when the Lord Jesus
Christ returns to the earth for the battle
of Armageddon.
Prophetic connotations
 The Day of Atonement marks the
second coming of the Lord when He
reveals Himself to Israel.
When will this be?
 This will occur in Yom Kippur seven
years after the Feast of Trumpets when
the Rapture was accomplished.
 This will be the day in which the Jewish
survivors will recognize Jesus-Christ as
their Messiah.
 On this day, a massive conversion of
Jewish to Jesus Christ will take place.
Present days.
 No biblical feast, as there are no
sacrifices.
 Jewish Feast, tradition from the
Pharisees.
 The Jewish people ask forgiveness to
relatives, friends and to anyone that
they could have do wrong.
Good deeds
 The atonement has been replaced by
acts of mercy and good deeds.
 The days of repentance before this
date, help them to review their lives.
 Also, this is a time to keep their names
in the book of life by doing good deeds.
The book of life
2 Chronicles 7:14
CHRISTIANITY, HOW TO SEE THIS
FEAST OF THE LORD?
Christianity
 As Christians, we can see a wonderful
picture of Jesus on this day and on the
other Feasts of the Lord celebrated in
the Old Testament.
The New Testament
 In the New Testament, the book of
Hebrews says,
 Hebrews 9:12
 "He entered the most holy place
once for all by His own blood, having
obtained eternal redemption."
Cleansed by the Blood of the
Lamb
Jesus our atonement
Isaiah 53:4-6 (NKJV)
 4 Surely He has borne our griefs and
carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed
Him stricken, smitten by God, and
afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our
transgressions, He was bruised for our
iniquities; the chastisement for our
peace was upon Him, and by His stripes
we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have
gone astray; We have turned, every one,
to his own way; And the LORD has laid on
Him the iniquity of us all.
2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV)
21 For He made Him who knew no
sin to be sin for us, that we might
become the righteousness of God
in Him.
1 Peter 2:24 (NKJV)
 24 who Himself bore our sins in His
own body on the tree, that we, having
died to sins, might live for
righteousness—by whose stripes
you were healed.
Jesus our High Priest
Romans 11:25-27 (NKJV)
 25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you
should be ignorant of this mystery, lest
you should be wise in your own opinion,
that blindness in part has happened
to Israel until the fullness of the
Gentiles has come in.
 26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is
written: “The Deliverer will come out of
Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness
from Jacob;
27 For this is My covenant with them,
When I take away their sins.”
 Thank you for taking the time to go
through these slides. This will help you
to do your own investigation and to
discover the prophetic connotations that
each one of the feast of the Lord have.
Scriptures are a treasure ready to
reveal secrets to those who are
interested and hungry for the Word of
God. If you have any comments or

The Feasts of the Lord, Yom Kipur

  • 2. Feast of Yom Kippur Learning to Prophesy Marco Lafebre
  • 3.
  • 4. Leviticus 23:26-32 (NKJV)  The Day of Atonement  26 And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:  27 “Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.  28 And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, to make atonement for you before the LORD your God.  29 For any person who is not afflicted in soul on that same day shall be cut off from his people.
  • 5. Leviticus 23:26-32 (NKJV)  30 And any person who does any work on that same day, that person I will destroy from among his people.  31 You shall do no manner of work; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.  32 It shall be to you a Sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your Sabbath.”
  • 6. THE MEANING OF YOM KIPPUR  Yom Kippur is the Day of Atonement. The word Yom means “Day”, and Kippur is derived from the Hebrew word Kaphar meaning “to cover’.  So Atonement, means “to cover”.  On Yom Kippur the high priest was to make “a covering” for the sins of Israel committed in the year.
  • 7. THE APOINTED TIME OF YOM KIPPUR  The feast of Yom Kippur falls on the 10th day of Tishri, the seventh month of the Hebrew Calendar.  Yom Kippur falls between the Feast of Trumpets on the 1st and the Feast of Tabernacles on the 15th of the month.
  • 8. Yom Kippur  The focus of this day is: A day of national repentance and the forgiveness of sins.  When the first Temple was standing, the Day of Atonement was only a temporary measure until the next year, when the whole process would be repeated.  The Passover lamb was only a picture of a greater fulfillment
  • 9. FULFILLMENT OF YOM KIPPUR  The rehearsal of Yom Kippur will come to and end when the prophetic scene be fulfilled.  The national repentance will one day occur when the nation of Israel comes to a national realization of Jesus as Messiah.
  • 10. Mourning for the Pierced One  Zechariah 12:9-10  New King James Version (NKJV)  9 It shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.
  • 11. Mourning for the Pierced One  10 “And I will pour on the house of David and on the inhabitants of Jerusalem the Spirit of grace and supplication; then they will look on Me whom they pierced. Yes, they will mourn for Him as one mourns for his only son, and grieve for Him as one grieves for a firstborn.
  • 12. Main idea of Yom Kippur  The central idea of Yom Kippur is of the need for national repentance leading to national salvation.  The feasts of the Lord show the plan of God to take Israel from a state of disobedience and alienation from God to redemption.
  • 13. The High Priest  It was on Yom Kippur, the only day of the year that the High Priest was allowed to enter the Holy of Holiest with the blood of lambs and goats, to present offerings for the atonement for himself and for the people.
  • 14. The High Priest  It was in this only occasion that the High Priest could pronounce in the Holy of Holies, the unpronounceable name of the Lord.
  • 15. The High Priest  The high priest was to represent the nation before the Lord on Yom Kippur.  The atonement of the nation was dependent on the high priest doing his job.  Therefore, to safeguard against any problems one week before the day, the High Priest left his home and moved to the Temple.
  • 16. THE PREPARATION  He was sprinkled with ashes from the “Red Heifer” during the week, to make sure he was ritually pure in case he could have come in contact with a dead body or some other event.  (Numbers 19:1-10)
  • 17. THE PREPARATION  A substitute was also appointed for the high priest should he die or become unclean.  The substitute was the captain of the Temple having command of the officers and Temple guard.  (Acts 4:1, 5:24, 26) Peter is confronted by the captain of the Temple guard.
  • 18. Acts 4:1(NKJV)  Peter and John Arrested  4 Now as they spoke to the people, the priests, the captain of the temple, and the Sadducees came upon them,
  • 19. Acts 5:24, 26 (NKJV)  24 Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these things, they wondered what the outcome would be.  26 Then the captain went with the officers and brought them without violence, for they feared the people, lest they should be stoned.
  • 20. THE PREPARATION  During the week leading up to Yom Kippur, the high priest would conduct Temple sacrifices.  He would also practice for the Yom Kippur service so there would be no mistakes
  • 21. THE PREPARATION  Normally, he only washes his hands and feet; but on Yom Kippur he would wash fully immersed in the laver.  He would change five times into and out of his two sets of priestly garments.  The morning priestly garments were different from the garment the high priest would wear on Yom Kippur.
  • 22. THE MORNING SERVICE  The Temple service on Yom Kippur began at dawn on 10th of Tishri.  The High Priest would also wash himself fully in the laver in the Court of Priest.
  • 23. Using Linen Garments  The high priest would wear the garments prescribed in the Law.  However, on Yom Kippur, the high priest was to wear linen garments, and to bath fully.  (Leviticus 16:4)
  • 26. Leviticus 16:4 (NKJV)  4 He shall put the holy linen tunic and the linen trousers on his body; he shall be girded with a linen sash, and with the linen turban he shall be attired. These are holy garments. Therefore he shall wash his body in water, and put them on.
  • 28. THE AFTERNOON SERVICE  The Yom Kippur service was the focus of the Afternoon Service.  The High priest would make sacrifices for himself and the people.
  • 29.
  • 30. The furniture of the Tabernacle
  • 31. THE CONFESSION OF THE HIGH PRIEST  The first thing the high priest was required to do after bathing and changing into his linen garments was to confess his sins over the bull. He was to take his two hands and place them on the bull; the blood of the bull would later be sprinkled at the Holy of Holies.  The bull was the priest’s sin offering.
  • 33. Pronouncing the name of God  Three times during this period he would utter the name of the Lord (YHWH). When the name of the Lord was spoken the people and high priest would fall on their faces and repeat the words, “Blessed be His name whose glorious kingdom is forever and ever!”.
  • 34. THE TWO GOATS  After confessing his sins on the bull, the high priest would move to the eastern side of the altar.  There, two goats were brought to him, escorted by the deputy high priest and the chief high priest of the divisions of priests.  (I Chron. 24:1-19)
  • 36. Sin Offering and Scapegoat  Two lots were placed in a golden vessel;  One inscribed with “For YHWH”,  The other “For Azael” (Scapegoat).  The goat chosen for the Lord became a sin offering, the other the scapegoat, let loose into the wilderness.  The “For Azael” goat was identified with a crimson cord around its horns. After the goats were chosen the high priest returned to the bull.
  • 38. THE SIN OFFERING  When the priest returned to the bull, he would confess the sins of the priesthood;  After confessing the sins of the priesthood, the high priest would then slay the bull and his blood would be collected in a golden bowl. An attending priest would stir the bowl of blood so it would not clot.
  • 39. Leviticus 16:11 (NKJV)  11 “And Aaron shall bring the bull of the sin offering, which is for himself, and make atonement for himself and for his house, and shall kill the bull as the sin offering which is for himself.
  • 40. THE BURNING OF INCENSE  After the high priest slaughters the bull, he is to take coals from the altar, along with fragrant incense, and enter the holy of holies.  The high priest would then put the incense on the coals.  The area would be then filled with smoke, concealing the mercy seat.
  • 41. Coals from the altar and Fragrant Incense
  • 42. SPRINKLING OF BLOOD  The high priest, after filling the holy of holies with incense, would then leave the room and go to the priest with the bowl of bulls’ blood and retrieve it.  He would then take the blood with him to the Holy of Holies behind the curtain. He would sprinkle the blood on the Mercy Seat (Atonement cover). He would sprinkle the blood seven times.
  • 43. Leviticus 16:14 (NKJV)  14 He shall take some of the blood of the bull and sprinkle it with his finger on the mercy seat on the eastside; and before the mercy seat he shall sprinkle some of the blood with his finger seven times.
  • 45.  The Arc of the Covenant was no longer present in the Second Temple. Some accounts say that the Arc was hidden by Jeremiah from the Babylonians in Mt. Nebo.  Therefore, the 2nd Temple did not have the Arc;  And so, the 3rd Temple does not need an Arc.
  • 46. The goat for the Lord  The priest would again leave the Holy of Holies and go to the goat that was chosen for the Lord.  This goat would be slain, and its blood collected.  The priest would return to the sacred area for the third time and sprinkle the blood of the goat on the Atonement Seat.
  • 47. Leviticus 16:15 (NKJV)  15 “Then he shall kill the goat of the sin offering, which is for the people, bring its blood inside the veil, do with that blood as he did with the blood of the bull, and sprinkle it on the mercy seat and before the mercy seat.
  • 49. Sprinkling on the horns of the altar  The priest was then to take some of the blood from the bull and goat and put it on all the horns of the altar. He would also sprinkle it seven times with his finger.  (Leviticus 16:18-20)
  • 50. Sprinkling on the horns of the altar
  • 51. Leviticus 16:18-20 (NKJV)  18 And he shall go out to the altar that is before the LORD, and make atonement for it, and shall take some of the blood of the bull and some of the blood of the goat, and put it on the horns of the altar all around.19 Then he shall sprinkle some of the blood on it with his finger seven times, cleanse it, and consecrate it from the uncleanness of the children of Israel.
  • 52. Leviticus 16:20 (NKJV)  20 “And when he has made an end of atoning for the Holy Place, the tabernacle of meeting, and the altar, he shall bring the live goat.
  • 53. Confessing the sins of Israel
  • 54. THE SCAPEGOAT  After the priest was finished with placing the blood on the altar, the priest then returned to the living goat.  He would place his hands on the goat and confess the sins of Israel over him.  Then a man would lead the goat off into the wilderness, carrying the sins of Israel with him.
  • 56. Burning the remains  Everybody would wait to receive news of the success of the scapegoat being led into the wilderness.  The remains of the bull and goat were removed and taken outside Jerusalem to be burned.
  • 57. Removing the fire pan  The priest would enter the Holy of Holies a fifth time to remove the incense ladle and fire pan.  He would then bathe for a fifth, and final time; changing into his traditional priestly garments..
  • 58. Evening Service  He would then perform the normal evening Temple service.  In the evening of the 10th of Tishri Yom Kippur would conclude
  • 59. No more wandering  After the 2nd Temple was erected, the scapegoat was led out about 12 miles from the Temple to a rocky cliff and was pushed off the cliff so it would not wander into inhabited areas.
  • 60. Pushed off the cliff
  • 61. Prophetic hints  This feast points out to the reconciliation of the Israelites with God.  The prophetical picture of this feast will be accomplished when the Lord Jesus Christ returns to the earth for the battle of Armageddon.
  • 62. Prophetic connotations  The Day of Atonement marks the second coming of the Lord when He reveals Himself to Israel.
  • 63. When will this be?  This will occur in Yom Kippur seven years after the Feast of Trumpets when the Rapture was accomplished.  This will be the day in which the Jewish survivors will recognize Jesus-Christ as their Messiah.  On this day, a massive conversion of Jewish to Jesus Christ will take place.
  • 64. Present days.  No biblical feast, as there are no sacrifices.  Jewish Feast, tradition from the Pharisees.  The Jewish people ask forgiveness to relatives, friends and to anyone that they could have do wrong.
  • 65. Good deeds  The atonement has been replaced by acts of mercy and good deeds.  The days of repentance before this date, help them to review their lives.  Also, this is a time to keep their names in the book of life by doing good deeds.
  • 66. The book of life
  • 68. CHRISTIANITY, HOW TO SEE THIS FEAST OF THE LORD?
  • 69. Christianity  As Christians, we can see a wonderful picture of Jesus on this day and on the other Feasts of the Lord celebrated in the Old Testament.
  • 70. The New Testament  In the New Testament, the book of Hebrews says,  Hebrews 9:12  "He entered the most holy place once for all by His own blood, having obtained eternal redemption."
  • 71. Cleansed by the Blood of the Lamb
  • 73.
  • 74. Isaiah 53:4-6 (NKJV)  4 Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. 5 But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the LORD has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.
  • 75. 2 Corinthians 5:21 (NKJV) 21 For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
  • 76. 1 Peter 2:24 (NKJV)  24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness—by whose stripes you were healed.
  • 77. Jesus our High Priest
  • 78.
  • 79. Romans 11:25-27 (NKJV)  25 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in.
  • 80.  26 And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: “The Deliverer will come out of Zion, And He will turn away ungodliness from Jacob; 27 For this is My covenant with them, When I take away their sins.”
  • 81.  Thank you for taking the time to go through these slides. This will help you to do your own investigation and to discover the prophetic connotations that each one of the feast of the Lord have.
