3. INTRODUCTION
Information technologies, due to their transversal nature, have become one of the
most used tools by managers and administrators in their decision making.
Decisions can be structured, semi-structured, and unstructured
The organizations support their structures in the organizational pyramid with
three levels: operational, tactical and strategic
Information systems are based on strategic pillars: technology, people and
processes of organizations
4. MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGIES
Information systems comprise three
components: technology, people and
processes.
Information systems is the combination
of technology, people and processes
that an organization uses to produce
and manage information.
Information technologies are all forms
of technology used to store, create,
store, exchange and use information.
The management or administration is a set of activities
that help to effectively use resources to achieve the
objectives of an organization
6. MANAGEMENT AND INFORMATION
TECHNOLOGIES
ORGANIZATIONAL PYRAMID
In organizations there are three
levels of management, which
meet different functionalities and
roles of personnel in the
organization
7. PLANNING OF AN INFORMATION
SYSTEMS
Planning is the process of identifying an established objective.
The planning of information technologies is a very important aspect of management
and comprises four stages:
Align the IT plan with the organization's global business plan
Discover the IT infrastructure in the company
Allocation of resources to specific information systems and projects
Project planning of specific information systems
8. SYSTEM DEVELOPMENT
The development of systems is a process of solving problems of investigation of a
situation:
Design a system solution to improve the situation
Acquisition of human, financial and technological resources
The process of developing a system begins when someone recognizes the existence
of a problem and the need for resolution or there is an opportunity that can be a
competitive advantage
9. THE LIFE CYCLE OF DEVELOPMENT OF
SYSTEMS
The systems development life cycle is the traditional
method of developing systems that organizations use for
large-scale information technology projects such as
information technology infrastructures.
This cycle of systems can be done by the information
systems department of the company itself, by an external
provider or by a software developer.

SYSTEMS
Investigation
Analysis of the system
System design

Operations and
maintenance
11. TOOLS AND TECHNIQUES OF
DEVELOPMENT OF SYSTEMS
System analysts use a wide variety of tools and techniques during the systems
development life cycle.
The purpose of these tools are useful for gathering data and describing or designing
systems.
Among the main tools are:
Flowcharts
Data flow diagrams (DFD)
Data Dictionary
Decision table
12. PROJECT MANAGEMENT
A project is a collection of tasks aimed at achieving a result such as the
implementation of a new inventory management system.
The PMI (Project Management Institute) defines the management of projects as the
application of knowledge, skills, and experiences, tools and techniques to the project
activity in order to meet the requirements of the project.
The projects are managed or managed according to three main characteristics:
Ambit
Weather
budget
13. PROJECT MANAGEMENT
EVALUATION TECHNIQUE AND
REVISION OF PROJECT "PERT"
The PERT tool identifies project tasks,
orders tasks in a sequence of times,
identifies their interdependencies and
estimates the time required to complete
the task
14. PROJECT MANAGEMENT
CRITICAL WAY METHOD "CPM"
It is a planning and forecasting tool.
The main objective of the critical path
method is to recognize which are the
activities of the critical path so that it is
known where the efforts must be focused
15. PROJECT MANAGEMENT
GANTT DIAGRAM
It is a graphical tool whose objective is to
show the expected dedication time for
different tasks or activities over a
determined total time.
This tool is used for the presentation of
time relationships of project tasks and for
monitoring progress towards the
completion of the project.
