2. CORONAVIRUS
It’s an ongoing pandemic disease recognized as pandemic by WHO
on 11 March 2020.
Till now it affected almost 210 countries and territories.
More then 1.85 million people got affected globally.
It resulted in more then 114,000 deaths.
More then 430,000 people also recovered
3. Spread of coronavirus
It spreads mainly between people during close contact.
By droplets produced during coughing, sneezing, while talking.
These droplets fall on ground or any other surface, then being
infectious over large distance.
4. Symptoms
Although there can be varying symptoms, but the main and common symptoms
which were found in maximum number of cases are-
1. FEVER
2. DRY COUGH
3. SHORTNESS OF BREATH.
In advance stage its complications may be
1. Pneumonia
2. Acute respiratory distress syndrome(ARDS)
5. TREATMENT AND PREVENTIVE
MEASURES
Till date there is no proper treatment or antiviral therapy or vaccine is
available anywhere in world
Only symptomatic treatment and preventive measures are being taken.
Symptomatic treatment clinicians are taking care of it.
Preventive measures we need to follow and according to guidelines.
6. Recommended preventive measures
Stay at home as much as possible, don’t go outside unless there is much
needed emergency.
Social distancing even if we are meeting our relatives, friends maintain a
sufficient gap to avoid spreading of infection.
Try to avoid going your relatives home these days
If someone is having cold, cough keep them in isolation.
Having travel history talk to concerned authorities by this you will be safe
your family will be safe.
7. Hand washing its most important measure as hands are main source to
transfer it in our body
If you go outside don’t touch your mouth, nose, eyes ears until you
perform hand washing
Hand wash can be done by two methods
1. Liquid hand wash
2. sanitizer
wash your hands frequently with liquid hand wash or sanitizers according
to proper guidelines laid down by QCI(Quality council of India) and
NABH(National Accreditation Board of Hospitals and Healthcare
Providers)

9. Steps of hand washing
Whether we perform hand wash by liquid soap or sanitizer steps will remain
same as can be seen in next slide.
1. Palm to palm
2. Right palm to left dorsum (back of hand) & vice versa
3. Interlacing fingers
4. Interlocking fingers
5. Tips of fingers
6. Thumb in rotating manner
7. Both the wrists in rotating manner.
11. We should perform hand washing more frequently and as per guidelines
to keep ourselves, and our loved ones safe.
Be at home don’t go outside
Don’t allow your children to play outdoor games in any public park or
public ground.
Eat healthy food
Have lot of oral fluids.
