5. Civil Engineering
Civil engineering is a professional engineering discipline
that deals with the design, construction, and maintenance
of the physical and naturally built environment, including
works like roads, bridges, canals, dams, and buildings.
Civil engineering is the oldest engineering discipline after
military engineering, and it was defined to distinguish non
military engineering from military engineering.
13. Electrical engineering is a field of engineering that generally deals
with the study and application of electricity, electronics, and
electromagnetism.
Deals with technology of electricity
Deals with technology from tiny microchip to power station
generators
24. Mining Engineering
Mining engineering is an engineering discipline that
involves the practice, the theory, the science, the
technology, and application of extracting and
processing minerals from a naturally occurring
environment.
31. Mechanical Engineering
• Mechanical engineering is a discipline of engineering that
applies the principles of engineering, physics and materials
science for analysis, design, manufacturing, and
maintenance of mechanical systems. It is the branch of
engineering that involves the production and usage of heat
and mechanical power for the design, production, and
operation of machines and tools. It is one of the oldest and
broadest engineering disciplines.
48. Chemical Engineering
Chemical engineering is a branch of chemistry and engineering
that applies the physical sciences (e.g., chemistry and physics)
and/or life sciences (e.g. biology, microbiology and
biochemistry) together with mathematics and economics to
production, transformation, transportation and proper usage of
molecules, chemicals and materials.
Modern chemical engineers are concerned with processes that
convert raw-materials or chemicals into more useful or valuable
forms.
57. • Information technology (IT) is the application of computers and
telecommunications equipment to store, retrieve, transmit and manipulate
data, often in the context of a business or other enterprise. The term is
commonly used as a synonym for computers and computer networks, but it
also encompasses other information distribution technologies such as
television and telephones.
• Computer engineering refers to the study that integrates electronic engineering
with computer sciences to design and develop computer systems and other
technological devices. (Techopedia)
68. Metallurgy and Materials Science
• Metallurgy is a domain of materials science and materials
engineering that studies the physical and chemical behavior
of metallic elements, their intermetallic compounds, and
their mixtures, which are called alloys. Metallurgy is also the
technology of metals: the way in which science is applied to
the production of metals, and the engineering of metal
components for use in products for consumers and
manufacturers.
75. Electronics & Communication
• Electronics engineering is an engineering discipline where non-linear
electrical components such as electron tubes, and semiconductor
devices, especially transistors, diodes and integrated circuits, are
utilized to design electronic circuits, devices and systems.
• Communications engineering, or Telecom engineering, is an
engineering discipline that brings together electrical engineering
with computer science to enhance telecommunication systems.[1][2]
The work ranges from basic circuit design to strategic mass
developments.
