INPUT DEVICES

2. Computer Hardware
Computer hardware refers to the physical parts or
components of computer such as keyboard, mouse, hard
disk, etc. It can be classified into five categories, but I am
going to talk about input devices such as, keyboard,
mouse, touchpad, microphone and Webcam.

3. KEYBOARD
Keyboard is the main input device of a computer. It is
used to input text, characters and other basic commands,
like copy, paste, move to next line, highlight, etc.

4. MOUSE
Mouse is an input device that allows the user to move
the cursor on the display screen, ‟point and click” or
‟drag and drop”.

5. TOUCHPAD
Touchpad is a pointing device that is used in laptops and
notebooks. It has a tactile sensor screen that can sense
pressure of a finger, and translate relative position and
motion of the finger on the screen.

6. MICROPHONE
Microphone is an input device that enable users to input
audio into a computer. It is used for voice recognition,
computer gaming, etc.

7. WEBCAM
A webcam is an input device that is able to capture
images and videos and input them into a computer.
It act as a digital camera and video camera for
laptops and other personal computers.
