7. Teratology and
Hazards to Prenatal
Development

8. Teratology is the field that investigates the
causes of congenital (birth) defects. A
teratogen is that which causes birth
defects. It coines from the Greek word
"tera" which means "monster"

Rubella (German Measles),

petrochemicals may cause
abnormalities sperm that lead to
miscarriage or diseases such as
