2. MY BELIEFS, THOUGHTS, & IDEAS OF
EDUCATING SCHOLARS
4th Grade scholars have brilliant minds that are
ready to be put to work.
Each scholar is capable of learning. However, it is
my duty to teach you not only WHAT to learn, but
HOW to learn.
Because I want nothing but the best for and FROM
you, my expectations of each of you are high.
(Don’t worry! I’ll support and aid you every step of
the way!)
RESPONSIBILITY is key. You play a role in your
education.
3. ATTENDANCE POLICY
Brilliant minds need to be put to work AT SCHOOL.
Remember, you can’t learn if you’re not at school.
Your attendance is very important.
Be H.O.T., here on time.
4. HOW YOUR WORK/PERFORMANCE WILL BE
GRADED
• General Grading Scale
• 5= 100-94.5 (A)
• 4= 94.4- 84.5 (B)
• 3= 84.4- 74.5 (C)
• 2= 74.4 -69.5 (D)
• 1= 69.4-0 (F)
• Possible Outcomes
• If a feedback of 5 or 4 is given, the corresponding numerical grade
is recorded in both grade books.
• If a feedback of 3 is given, an attempt of revising the assignment
for partial credit may be given. If this opportunity is not given, the
corresponding numerical grade is recorded in both grade books.
• Revisions are imperative on all assignments that receive a
feedback of 2 or 1.
5. REVISION POLICY
If you do not understand or grasp a skill, how can I
expect you to master what is next? In that case,
revision is key to improvement and MASTERY.
As previously stated, all work with a feedback of 2
or lower MUST BE revised/redone.
Revisions on classwork will be assigned as
homework. (YES, this is in addition to the
homework you’ll already have.)
Failure to complete revisions will result in the original
grade being recorded in both grade books.
6. REVISION POLICY (CONT.)
The revision policy applies to tests as well.
Test revisions will only be given on certain parts of
the original exam.
Content of test revisions will be extremely similar in
nature, but not exactly the same as on the original
exam.
Test revisions will be scheduled throughout the
following week of the original given test date.
7. HOMEWORK
I know homework may not be one of your favorite
activities to do once out of school, but it is
IMPORTANT.
Homework is mandatory. It will be taken up daily,
graded, and recorded.
Mondays and Wednesdays
Homework will be assigned in reading, language arts,
and mathematics.
Tuesdays and Thursdays
Homework will be assigned in science and social
studies.
9. “I AM…” A BLOOMING BLOSSOM
I am Ms.
McQueen
I feel honored
to be your
teacher.
I want to go to
Paris soon.
I cry when I
am sad or
frustrated.
I see
everything
positively.
I am an
educator.
10. WE’RE IN THIS TOGETHER
We’re (you, your parents, me, and the entire
school) in this academic journey together.
Your success is important to us all!
11. WITH HARD WORK AND DEDICATION…
We can succeed!
We can achieve!
We can excel!
We can be all that we can be!
I believe in you. You have to believe in yourself.
I will show you the path and guide you. You must
order your own footsteps to follow.
