Training Program Coordinator; Aircraft Maintenance Unit (AMU) Training (2002 to 2008)
Directed and managed the effectiveness of all training programs for up to 320 personnel representing 12
different functional specialties. Reported all training statistics, made recommendations and provided technical
assistance to the Commander and Maintenance Superintendent on matters pertaining to training. Conducted
inspections and directed proper documentation of on-the-job training records and other training documents.
Planned daily and weekly training schedules. Mentored and provided career advice for junior staff.
Coordinated and scheduled 200+ training events monthly to ensure AMU personnel were retrained and
certified on all new technologies as they were introduced
Implemented stringent audit program and status report to reduce frequency of overdue training by 38%
Resolved a severe “no show” problem by creating a 90-day forecast spreadsheet that allowed division
heads to more accurately anticipate upcoming trainings and avoid conflicts with offsite deployments.
Achieved 100% attendance in both July and August and only 26 no shows out of 1,342 training
appointments for an entire year in 2005
Converted personnel information to the Core Automated Maintenance System (CAMS) software
application; produced the lowest data integrity error rate in the group for 8 consecutive months in 2004
Revamped unit’s training request form; created new Excel spreadsheet to more accurately and quickly
capture training program attendance and gaps and to eliminate human error in calculations
Managed unit’s Data Integrity Team; reviewed over 70,000 data entries and achieved error rate 2.8%
below acceptable standard
Led training initiative to integrate national guardsmen into existing training programs without disrupting
mandatory training regimen for full-time service personnel. Navigated bottleneck caused by
requirement that all 210 Guard members be trained within their two weeks of full-time service
2. Reduced training backlog for the largest unit in the group by 9% in 2008 to achieve a 3% overdue rate
vs. 5% standard; efforts led to the unit finishing #1 among 29 for the Secretary of Defense Field Level
