2. TITLE
Autonomous Irrigation System
INTRODUCTION
• The project is design to develop a “Automatic
Irrigation using microcontroller”
• The motor is operated to rotate the wheels of the
vehicles in different directions.
• It is also has a feature to spread the seeds on
ground.
• For this operation we use an ATmega8 AVR
microcontroller along with a motor driver IC L293d to
drive the motor.
• We can can sprinkle water as well as spread seeds
simultaneously.
3. COMPONENTS USED
• ATmega8 microcontroller(28 pins)
• L293D Motor Driver IC(16 pins)
• Two 10K Resistors
• Two 22kpF Capacitors
• Two L- shaped Motors(3-12v)
• Two Switches
• Voltage Regulator(9v to 5v)
• Crystal(8 MHz)
• 4 pin connector
4. WORKING
When we press start button present in the
circuit the both motors present at the
bottom of vehicle is started and wheels
starts rotating.
Direction of the vehicle is automatically
changed according to microcontroller
programming
Water starts sprinkling out through the pipe
and seeds are also spreaded through the
funnel.
At the same time blades of cultivator plough
the land.
5. PROBLEM STATEMENT
•Leakage Problem is major issue through
the pipe.
•Sometimes, Wheels do not work properly
during working.
•Limited DC supply is not suffiicient for its
operation.
•Constant water supply is necessary to
perform the operation which is done
manually.

7. CONCLUSION
•By this projec we can implement smart
method of irrigation.
•Through this project, we cannot only
cultivate the irrigation land but can also
provide proper water supply
simultaneously.
•Morever, Required amount of seeds to
plough the land can also be done
automatically.
•This method reduces the human efforts.
8. FUTURE SCOPE
•This technique can be used in ploughing
large fields.
•In future, pesticides can also be sprinkled
from this machine according to delay.
•Generators can be used to give
continuous supply to the battery.
•It will only irrigate the unfertile land and
not the fertile land.
•This will save the water and more land
can be cultivated.
