I am writing this letter on behalf of Ms. Wendy Liuzhi Zeng. Since April 7, 2016 Wendy has
been volunteering here at the Department of Social Services for 2 days per week. As 1have gotten to
know her better, I have found her to be a caring individual with a strong work ethic. Presently, she
performs various administrative and human resource related duties in the Employment unit. Most
noteworthy is her assistance with the daily job search workshops administered by the Employment unit,
These workshops are designed to prepare Public Assistance applicants and recipients for the transition
from welfare to work and ultimately self-sufficiency. Following an overview presentation, clients are
evaluated on an individual basis to determine their current job skills, prior work history and educational
background. This information helps the agency to determine appropriate placements for clients in
various work activities, similar to the way a human resource recruiter would screen job applicants.
Wendy also conducts Chinese translations as needed and has helped us register employers for our
annual Nassau County Job Fair. I am proud to say that her performance in all of the above areas has been
excellent.
Wendy's ability to learn quickly has enabled her to gain a thorough understanding of the
regulations associated with the services the agency provides. Her sense of decency and compassion,
coupled with her willingness to assist those in need, is a natural fit and a true benefit, not only to our staff
but also to our cl ientele with whom she interacts.
Based on my professional experience with Wendy, I am confident in her abilities and recommend
her for the position that she seeks.
