Personal Statement
I am currently working Full Time within the local council Social Services as a Contact Assessment
Worker. I manage contact sessions between children and their parents/families. I take extensive
written notes for the case and enter them onto the database. I compile contact schedules and liaise
with Social Workers, Foster Carers and families to ensure the consistent delivery of information and
advice and guidance.
I have previously worked Temporary, part time at a KS3 Pupil Referral Unit. Supporting 3 pupils in
order that they can be re-integrated back into a main stream secondary school. Also previously
employed as Reception Manager at a medical practice. Managing 14 staff, overseeing the smooth
operation of the practice on a daily basis. Devising new protocols, ensuring the patient journey is a
pleasant one. Dealing with queries and complaints.
An experienced Student Support Manager, Senior Learning Mentor and Support Assistant with line
management experience of over 14 staff. I have recently passed Level 5 Leadership and
Management. Also passed, with highest recorded distinction, Social Work with Children and Families
Diploma Level 4.A friendly, outgoing nature, a good team player who thrives on challenges, taking on

Working as a Sales Advisor my main duties included assisting customers with sales at the till point.
Administering customer advice at the Customer Service desk, for example dealing with refunds and
exchanges. Cash collection and reconciliation at the close of trading. Switchboard operation and
handling store deliveries from time to time. I was the team leader of the Investors in People award for
the store and Marks and Spencer were the very first store within the town centre to achieve this.

(2000 to 2002)
My duties involved managing incoming phone calls for all departments; dealing with general queries,
and identifying the best departments to deal with all customer and supplier enquiries. I also coordinate
all incoming and outgoing mail within the organisation, sorting and distributing this to the
correct departments. Within my first three months in the role, I implemented a new filing system to
organise all the customer deliveries into an accessible system. I also became the lead administrator
for data entry of customer delivery times and scheduling.
Senior Learning Support Assistant/Learning Mentor Telford and Wrekin Council, Telford
(2002 to 2012)
Working in schools in varying roles from Special Needs Teaching Assistant to my role of
Senior Learning Support Assistant and Mentor at the Blessed Robert Johnson Catholic College,
Wellington Telford. My main duties included managing a team of13 Support Assistants,
supporting and mentoring students in the classroom and daily administration duties required by law
for the Learning Support department. I also supported various children in care who are vulnerable and
need close monitoring and guidance. I implemented many new systems including timetabling of the
support assistants and staffing for the exam period with an excel spreadsheet for the whole school. I
