Why Support Curie Elementary?
We All Benefit
The entire University City community benefits from a solid school
system, even those of us with no children enrolled. The quality of
our schools helps sustain demand for housing in our community,
maintaining property values. A neighborhood-wide commitment to
Curie Elementary ensures that our school, and our community,
remains strong.
Generations Working Together
For half a century, San Diegans have known that University City is
an exceptional place to live. Families and individuals from all
chapters of life thrive here. Original homeowners live alongside
children who grew up in UC, and are now raising their own
families. Effective schools like Curie Elementary secure the
continuation of our vital community and lifestyle.
Ensuring Our Future
By any measure, Curie is among the top public elementary schools
in California. While the district provides the basics of education,
our PTA fills in critical gaps by providing Science, Music, Art, and
Physical Education programs. Strong education is foundation to
success in life, and to maintaining the success of University City as
a neighborhood.
BE THE
DIFFERENCE
Please sponsor Marie Curie Elementary
students on March 13th
, 2013 as they
run even more “Laps for Learning.”
100% of your tax-deductible donation
will go to Curie Elementary and our PTA
supported programs.
Goal: $35,000 needed to maintain
current level of educational excellence
in our community.
Supporters of University City public
schools sustain the very heart of our
neighborhood.
Continuing Traditions: Curie Elementary Alumnus and
UC resident Wendy Remington with her children,
Alexander and Hazel, in front of Curie Office today.
“If we did not have Science, kids could
not become Paleontologists or
Professors in Chemistry…” Brandon,
Curie 5th
Grader
“Music teaches you teamwork: you
play and harmonize with other
students…” Adam, Curie 5th
Grader
“PE is fun, and you are also getting
exercise! Art lets us use imagination
and creativity. We would not want to
lose these programs.” Brielle &
Rebecca, Curie 5th
