Responsibilities: My work team and I were responsible for the identification of faults and complete
mechanical repairs to commercial shipping vessels. Our repairs entailed hydraulic work, control pitch
propellers (CPP units), rudder operation, seals replacements, pressure testing and alignment of
generators and gearboxes.
Projects involved the overhaul of bowl and stern thrusters, oil distribution boxes, bearings, main
engines repairs and replacing pumps and valves. All work was carried out maintaining up to date
workplace health and safety procedures while liaising with staff and management, co-ordinating and
reporting on each project.
